This hotel has the most stunning views in Sarajevo. Positioned at the top of a building at the beginning of the pedestrian area, the view is breathtaking. Rooms are very nice and comfortable. Breakfast lacks choice but the view from the hotel restaurant makes up for this and you can always pick something up in one of the nearby coffee houses. The main problem is the lack of elevator from the reception (9th floor of the building) to the other floors and you might be taking your luggage three floors up on foot. Not great for a deluxe hotel.

I was in Sarajevo for three nights in late June. I wanted a hotel with some privacy, in a good location, for a reasonable price. After doing all my research the Hecco Deluxe ended up what seemed like the best choice. In terms of location I don't think you can do much better: at the quiet end of the high street that leads in to the Turkish Quarter, a mere 7 minute stroll away!

Once you check in you'll be dragging your luggage up 2 or more flights of stairs usually (there are 2 guest rooms on the same level as Reception though). The rooms have STUNNING views of Sarajevo. The beds are comfortable, but frumpy twin beds pushed together. Bathroom is OK but shower only. Air conditioning worked well. Room was mostly clean, but a bit tired here and there. Very cool digital "do not disturb" indicator for the room--nice. Wifi was rather slow--not dial-up slow, but not much faster than ISDN.

Breakfast was in the café--decent basic continental breakfast. café has a balcony that wraps around the entire building--very nice! But my room was right above it and Bosnians smoking directly below meant I couldn't leave my window room open if I wanted to. Not a big deal; part of travelling the Balkans.

One thing that was inconsistent was the service at the front desk. Mostly the folks there were charming and helpful--as was the porter at street level. But one woman was rather snarky when I told her there was a problem with the satellite TV in my room. Very much a "do you normally snarl at customers when they ask for help" moment. But the TV was fixed eventually--when I asked someone else again later.

On balance I would stay there again--as long as I didn't need to go up more than 2 floors with my own bags. A person with a mobility issues wouldn't be able to do it at all--with or without bags.

Very modern well located hotel. Good value. Excellent views across city. Good breakfast.

I stayed a couple of nights at Hecce Deluxe after a few rough days on the road.
This is a hotel thet works better for business than recrational purposes. The rooms have a great modern standard, good aircondition, satelite tv, minibar and an amazing view. The bed were exelent, and I slept like a baby.

I only have two remotly negative things:
One I still dont get, is that there was not possible to get a proper drink of any sorts.. Alcoholfree beer in the minibar and orangejuice in the "bar".. I really missed my martini..
The other is that the wifi was really slow.. It worked for easy browsing or chatting, but there was no chance of upploading or sending bigger mails..

If you only need a nice, clean, friendly and supercentral place to stay it workes!
