Hotel is very small, it doesnt look like one from outside. Rooms are ok but bathroom is very very small. Staff wasnt very helpful, asked for some restaurant recomendations and they didnt know any. The Rambla is just one block away, it is a beautiful place to walk or jog. Breakfast is very good though.

Good hotel, a bit old, well located and clean.
Inside the room there is a mini kitchen, ironing board and iron.

The only problem was that I had made a reservation for the Punta Trouville SUITES, getting there they put me in the APART. I really wish I had stayed in the suites, and the didn't do anything to solve the problem, showing that even though I reservation the voucher was right.

We entered Punta Trouville's website and it looked very promising. We payed a deposit and were very happy to find a place so close to the beach. However, when we arrived, we were very disappointed:
* The rooms were dated and poorly maintained. They had an overwhelming smell of lime cleaning detergent.
* The location was less than ideal; Although close to the Rambla, we had a hard time even finding a place to have a beer within walking distance.
* On top of all that, we had to pay a 20 $USD fee FOR paying a deposit. :-/

In summary, Punta Trouville was a bad experience and we would not recommend it to anyone.

The pros are: very nice location in Pocitos, close to the ramblas; a superb breakfast; a silent area of the city and pretty clean rooms.

The cons are: staff is not friendly; the front area is under refurbishment and this was not informed at the time of reservation as it should be; the room refrigerator was empty - and there was no water to sell at the hotel at the time I arrived, which made me go out at 3 am to look for some water to drink...fortunately there was a gas station around open; the bathrooms are tiny, you can barely move yourself during shower and the hotel is pricey to Montevideo standards.
