A woman at the tourist office recommended this place because I asked for something nearby and cheap. The price in January 2007 was only 350 pesos, or about US$14. The rooms are simple, and only come with antenna TV. Rooms that face the street are bright but noisy during the day. Rooms in the back have windows that open to a large ventilation shaft, and rooms higher up would be brighter than the dark one I had on the first floor. What makes this place great is the family that runs it. The whole family works here, both in the hotel and the restaurant, and they are super nice people. This is a cheap hotel, but they don't allow couples to check in for a couple of hours, so they keep it nice. Free
simple breakfast in the morning. Just a block off the main street. Just don't go in expecting much and you'll be OK, as it's really a place for someone on a backpacker's budget who wants a private room and bath. The mattresses and sheets are nice here.
