On January 2012, I stayed again at the Belmont HOuse I feel it is unfair to say that this property has gone downhill as KandiceK states in her review I would not say either that this is the best hotel I ever stayed as in another review.
The Belmont House might be some years old, but I found it to be what it has always been: a nice boutique hotel built and decorated with good quality materials in good taste. I had no problem finding hand towels, the matter in fact my large white marble bathroom was provided with all the usual towels plus two bath robes. Everything I needed was there hair dryer, bath gel, shampoo and so forth.
It was very hot in January 2012 and I spent with pleasure sometime in the hotel 's pool. Not your usual hotel pool, but an elegant , fairly deep pool surrounded by green: flowers, trees.
and grass. There were fresh towels in each lounge chair most importantly it was quiet and I had the luxury to rest in my lounge chair far from any other guest.
I ordered a gin and tonic, read, swam and had the feeling of being in a special place.
Breakfast is included in the rate,it is a good buffet, room service is also good.
The bar is pleasant and one day I had a nice English tea with nice little sandwiches and
orange cake.
Staff is very friendly, they do speak English in the front desk and I also overheard the manager, a young lady speaking fluent German with an Austrian couple.
This trip I found out that a taxi can be called buy dialing 1771, front desk can do it, and it charges only $252 pesos to the Airport, also coming back can be called and they charge same fare, instead of $490 that is the fare of official airport taxis ( white taxis).
For me this is a quaint small hotel where I have a good time each time I go/ They have free wifi in all rooms which of course is a very welcome addition.
