We spent four days at Tryp Hotel over New Year's Eve. Location was great. Hotel is clean, perhaps could use a little updating, but nice overall. Thought the buffet breakfast was nice each morning and the staff at the hotel very helpful. We found some great places to eat through the front desk. We were very disappointed with the pool as I really wouldn't classify it as a swimming pool, more of a large lounging tub with warm water. It was also more inside than out and didn't look terribly clean. There's a nice rooftop lounging area, but only four lounge chairs there. We did, however, love going to this rooftop area on New Years Eve to view the fireworks that went off all over the city. It was just great and nice to be with other revelers welcoming the new Year in. We had planned a new Year's eve dinner at nearby restaurant Francis, but two in our party swerve under the weather, so we decided to hang out at the small bar at the Tryp, which turned out to be very nice. They were very accommodating and, although they were booked in the diningroom that evening, they provided us with a meal at the bar, which was very much appreciated since most everything else in the city closeby was closed that night.
It was a very good experience except for the disappointment with the lack of a real swimming pool and outdoor lounge area. Would recommend this hotel.
