When looking for hotels I first look for good prizes at Expedia and the read the reviews at Tripadvisor. After Hotel had a very special offer or 83 USD per night and was rated number one of 68 hotels in Montevideo. It´s close to the seashore (Rambla) and the Montevideo Shopping Center, which the taxi drive told me is the largest one in the city. Many busses close by. There is a roof terrace and also a swimming pool there. The hotel seems to be brand new and every thing is clean and modern. Comfortable beds, large safe and strong free WiFi connection. Very good it´s 100% smoke-free. The breaksfast is fine and until 11:00 AM so I could take it easy in the mornings. The service is good e.g I asked one of the staff where I could try this Mate I saw many locals drink. He brought me a Mate to dry and explained the drink to me and the different way it´s drunk in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

I arrived with my girlfriend on Monday 23. January 2012,.....we booked a room for 3 nights, till 26. January 2012.
The hotel is completly new, they opened in November 2011,.....the location is wonderful, its in "Buceo", the most luxurious place, near the World Trade Center in Uruguay and near the Yacht Club del Uruguay.
All what I can say, price, service, food, excellent,.....Queen-Size-Bed, Flat-Screen-TV, and
the Mini-Bar, everything nice and new. I didn't knew that its possible to design such a beautiful bath with a bath-tub and a shower in such small space. The design of the hotel and the rooms are wonderful,.....everything is in the colours white, black, grey and silver, very detailed and elegant,.....you can choose rooms with or without balcony.
The breakfast is first-class and you can get everything you want, croissants, marmalade, strawberry and peach-Joghurt-drinks, sausage and bacon, fruitsalad, different kinds of fresh fruits, different kind of cakes, salami, turkey-sausage, ham, feta-cheese and other different kind of cheeses, good coffee, fresh orangejuice and fresh applejuice,......everything is served on real plates with real spoons, knifes and forks,.....not this plastic-junk (sorry to say) like in the USA.
They have a bar, a restaurant, a nice place to sit outside in the evening, and then the braekfast-area,.....everything is hooked up together. On the top of the hotel you have a pool and a nice place where you can stay to get some sun, or take a look at the World-Trade-Center, or the ocean. They preparing a new restaurant with a barbecue on the top of the hotel and its just a question of time when this is finished.
The staff is very friendly, everyone speaks english and they are all motivated,.....it was one of the best places I stayed in the last years for such a price.
When you go for a nice walk on the street along the beach then don't forget to eat a very good swiss-fondue or a very big steak in the restaurant "La Casa Violeta" (the restaurant with the violet roof). There are other first-class-restaurants, also a big mall as well, all around the World-Trade-Center-area.
Take a taxi to the "Place de Independencia" in the main city, but you should also see the three story mall "Punta-Carretas" - a former prison; and of course, the nice park near the golf-course and the close beach,.....you have to see this beautiful places .
When we should be back in Uruguay/Montevideo again,.....we know allready where we will stay,.....in "Buceo" and in the and After-Hotel.

Newer Hotel in convenient location to shopping center, restaurants and the Rambla. The staff was outstanding, very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Breakfast was included with very nice presentation to choose from. And we enjoyed an impressive dinner to our surprise. We worked with excellent wireless internet on our laptops. Don't miss out on the rooftop pool and sun deck.

The hotel is a bit far away from the center which is a good thing as there is not much to see in Montevideo, at least you can cross the city and see what it looks like, much more than enough. Apart of it, the rooms are clean but small. Do not count on the swimming pool to have fun. the staff is mostly very nice but unexperimented. The hotel is 3 months old and works inside are not over yet so if you come here to relax and sleep late in the morning then forget it!!!!!
