The hotel room was spacious, modern, and clean. The location in Pocitos is good; however not as close to some of the better restaurants such as Perdiz and Francis, but still walkable distance. The breakfast was average to good - nothing extraordinary. It had a variety of choices - good coffee, eggs, bacon, fresh fruit yogurt and some pastries.
The main detractor was the service from the staff. As one of the best ranked hotels, my expectation was high that they would be advocates for us while we were in Uruguay like many of the other well ranked Tripadvisor hotels and B&Bs that we have stayed at. But they was often short in conversations and not very helpful with little things like power converters or finding transportation to airport (I recommend the intermediate taxi services - there vans which take multiple passengers or dedicated airport taxis that are cheaper then the standard cabs.). I felt like when speaking to them, we were keeping them from something more important than my inquiry and were often left waiting in the middle of a conversation. They advertise their happy hour/free wine tasting which we did try. The wine was good, but there was no chance to mingle with other guests since it was more about selling the product then the experience of enjoying vino and meeting fellow travelers.
Overall a good value for the money for the room and location.
