“Quiet and comfy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

We had just had a week in Buenos Aires in the middle of party central and needed a break from the noise and revellers. We came here on a weekend and found a charming and pleasant atmosphere with a simple but very quiet room (it was sound proof!). The staff were extremely helpful and the common area downstairs was pleasant and chilled. The beds were comfy and the showers hot. Not a bad location, just 10 minutes walk to the beach and a few restaurants and bars nearby. All in all a nice place to relax.

“The worst place I've ever stayed.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 September 2011

The previous place we stayed booked us in here- unfortunately. The room was dirty and dingy. There was music blaring at reception and the hostels bar outside blared music and shouting until 3/4am. When I asked about moving I got a cold reception - a truly horrible place to stay - el viajero downtown Montevideo was like a palace in comparison - and cheaper.

“You get what you pay for”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 August 2011

I would recommend this place for people on a shoestring budget. It was clean, hygeinic, but met expectations for a cheap hostel. It was noisy with cramped quarters and the fans in our 4 person room didn't work. Also, during our two night stay one of the bathrooms was on the fritz so it took forever to get a shower. However, the staff were friendly and there was free internet!

“Awesome location and very clean”

The hostel has an awesome location, the staff is great and I was surprised by the cleaning. There is always someone cleaning!
Best regards for everyone there, in special to Francisca!

“BEDBUGS EVERYWHERE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 February 2011

I don't have much to say about this hostel, but the 85% customer rating on the hi hostel website shouldn't be! We got here just a few hours ago and woke up in the middle of the night with bedbugs crawling all over us and our things. We should've realized that this place was infested when one of our roommates who obviously stayed here the night before was spraying her bed with some toxic substance that made our lungs hurt.
So..it is 3 am and we are trying to find a different hostel for tomorrow night, any suggestions?
