We loved this hotel - stayed with my sister in a spacious, well-decorated room with two huge double beds and a fab balcony overlooking the lovely gardens and urubamba river. Liked the huge shower as it felt like you were outdoors (but couldn't be seen by anyone). Beautiful gardens were extremely well cared for - highlight was feeding the baby llama and alpaca. Food was excellent and outside hot tub (in the spa with all associated treatments) was ingenious 'back to nature' touch. A few days R&R here, on the way to/from Machu Pichu or Cusco are recommended - plus Ollayantambo is just down the road (we hitched a lift on one of the pickups that speed up and down full of locals, but obviously the hotel can organise transport too). Orient Express had only just taken over this hotel when we went last year, and I expect the service levels (which we thought were already high) to go from strength to strength.
Room Tip: all the rooms face the river, built onto a slight hill. there are lots of steps so if you have mobil...
