“Not so good looking from the street - but lovely inside”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 February 2012

You step down past a small reception and about 4 internet cafe terminals through a hall and into a most charming courtyard that has the rooms around it. The owners and staff don't speak a lot of english but we managed to get by. The breakfast was very nice - and in the restaurant next door (we didn't realise that they were connected).

“OK option”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

This is a family run place that serves its purpose.

The beds are good and the showers are hot and strong enough. We had a problem with the reservation system - it did not work and we had to re-reserve by phone from Cuzco. The staff were very good about it and the owner deducted our deposit from the price as we had a print out from Google checkout.

There is no breakfast included ($4 extra per person) and the wifi does not work in the rooms.

It is located well and is a basic, but decent place to lay your bones for a night in Ollantaytambo.

“Cute hotel but there were many bugs in our room!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

The hotel was charming in a sense, but our room had a lot of bugs in it, so we checked out early. I think some of the other rooms were better than ours, so make sure the room has been cleaned and set up before you stay over.

The staff was nice, but didn't speak English. It is less than 5 minutes from Plaza de armas and the other sites to see in Ollantaytambo.

“Lovley owner, excellent location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 January 2012

We arrived late at night and were picked up by the very friendly owner of the hostal. Together we walked the 200 meters to the hostal from the train station. As he could tell we were exhausted, he gave us the keys and suggest to checked in officially the next morning.
Relaxed after good sleep in a beautifully decorated room and a nice hot shower we visited the ruins which are literally around the corner.
When we checked out we could leave our backpacks all day till we left Ollantaytambo and I was even allowed to take another shower after visiting the ruins.
If you are looking for a nice play to stay to fill up your batteries and visit the astonishing Inka ruins, this is the place to go!

Room Tip: We had a room at the back, very quiet, but WLAN coverage only at the reception for us.

“Charmy, clean, central, cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 January 2012

This cute hotel in the heart of Ollantaytambo is the perfect choice if you are looking for a basic hotel, clean, cozy and friendly. All the people were very nice to us. The hotel is in a typical old house in Ollantaytambo, with the Incas base walls and the white upper part. Inside there is a series of 2 Spanish looking courtyards. The rooms were nice, but not so much the ones in the front part of the hotel. Overall it was the perfect choice. Located right next to the Incas ruins, next to the train station and next to the main square. On the rigth side of the hotel you have probably the best coffee shop in town. If you go remember to order the pancake which will amaze you. It has very little to do with the American pancakes. All my friends regreted they didn't order it.

Room Tip: Try to stay in one of the room facing the rear backyard. They are nicer.
