When ever I did travel to Lima I did stay in Molina. In all the YEARS I did stay there there was always hot water it was always very clean the Staff was alwyays very helpful Breakfast is great . The location is in a upscale part of Lima It is safe to stay there..Plaza Kennedy is close by with restaurants and great Shops. . It takes about 50 minutes by Taxi from the Airport. I would not stay any other place.

What can I say about Villa Molina? It is a small, quiet hotel in a quaint neighborhood near Ovalo Gutierrez. It was just by chance that I even found it as it is not very well advertised and kind of hidden in the middle of a neighborhood. Walking in is a pleasant experience as you enter into a very beautiful atrium that is very serene and peaceful. The staff of the hotel is very hospitable and attentive to your needs. The rooms, however, are small and non-descript. Although it is said that there is hot water in the hotel, I never really knew for certain because after four days I was still waiting for it. To sum it up, it was a very forgettable experience, neither good nor bad. I travel to Lima several times a year, but I will probably not stay there again unless I can't find another hotel in the area.

Pros- Quiet, In-expensive, Nice Staff, Beautiful Atrium

Cons- Location, No Hot-Water, Small Rooms with no Ammenities

“Perhaps this is the way things are in South America”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 September 2009

The hotel staff did not speak english too well. I had difficulty communicating. The room was chilly with no heater. I was able to double up on other bedding on another bed in the room. No drape on bathroom window, sheer drapes on other windows. No lock on door. (Used a table to feel 'secure' first part of week, got lax on that and was walked in on -truly do believe a harmless accident- by staff later in the week). Water was also an issue - at times it was not even running. Other times water changed between scalding hot and very cold. Best advice is to rise early for showers. The breakfast consisted of coldcut meat, cheese, fruit, white rolls and butter. Again - best advice arrive early, as staff are sometimes inattentive to empty buffet plates. Fresh squeezed papaya juice (when made) was a very nice aspect of the breakfast. Also, to note, there is no room service or help with getting delivered food in evenings - - and a word to the wise if you are a non-latin solo female traveler alone in Lima at nite, you might not be brave enough (or wise) to leave the hotel alone after dark. One small roll of toliet paper provided, with rooms sometimes going several days between servicing. I got the impression, however, that this was a 'nice hotel' for the area.
