“The cutest little place !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 January 2012

This is an excellent 3 star hotel in the center of historic Cuzco. It's a charming little place in a beautiful restored colonial hose, it has everything that you'll need while exploring one of the most important historic places in the world. It has excellent location!!!

As soon as you walk in the staff will welcome you with mate de coca or coca tea .You have to remember that Cuzco is high up in Andes, 11200 ft (3400m) high, so it is good to be informed about SOROCHE or high altitude sickness. Coca tea helps you to cope with it, there is an area in the dining room for tea making, you can make it whenever you want as much as you want, take it to your room or drink it downstairs in a hotels courtyard. You won't be drugged from it, it's just used as a medicine, but be careful with it if there is a drug test waiting for you when you get back home.
This hotel is within walking distance to everything important in Cuzco. Few steps away from Plaza De Armas, restaurants, souvenir shops, museums, churches etc. You'll walk by Inka Museum as you go to the main square. You can even walk to the Saqsayhuaman site if you've managed your soroche.
The staff speaks English , they are helpful and polite, you bags will be carried to your room upon arrival and they can store your luggage for you after check out which is at 10am.
The rooms are different, some are small but some are big as three bed room on the second floor we stayed in. It was spacious, bright and clean with a high ceiling, sofa, table, chairs, 2 electric heaters for the cooler periods and cable TV. The bathroom was nice, very clean. WiFi is free, ask for a password.
Breakfast is included and available from 5:30 in the dining room down stairs, food is great and fresh ! You have oxygen tank in there too, if needed.

This hotel is full of charm, a great place to go back to after a whole day of exploring.
We loved it and would go back any time !

“very nice, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We stayed a total of three nights here at the Hotel Midori. It's very nice inside, with a pleasant covered courtyard in the middle. The breakfast was very good, featuring eggs, breads, and a number of fruits. The staff was uniformly friendly and, e.g., helped us with restaurant reservations. The location is good, just a block off the Plaza de Armas. One caution: we stayed in the suite of rooms right in front by the front desk, and the noise of cars driving down the street was a little noisy (the street is cobblestone).

“Lovely little boutique hotel”

Brilliant,Very clean and comfortable, we had a quiet twin at the rear. Excellent location 200m up from main square, typical courtyard house, very good breakfast available from 5.30am, staff all very friendly, free coca tea anytime. Just up around the corner from the hotel is a fab little bar/cafe, Kukuly, Local prices, mains 8-20sol, great food and jazz, we ate there several times. Also used JJJ on square for Inca tours, good value at 40sol.

Room Tip: first floor rooms to rear are quietest and get the early morning sun

“Terrific location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

I only had one concern with the Midori Hotel but once someone filled me in on the fact that the rainbow flag hanging over the entrance is actually the flag of Cusco, I was good. This hotel is only steps from the main square, although to warn you, every one of those steps are UP! A fantastic litte place to rest your head after a day or exploring one of the most historic cities and regions in the world.

Room Tip: most rooms that I could see didn't have much of a view so if that's one of your criteria, I...

“Good view over Cusco”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2011

Well it`s near the main square but up a steep hill and it`s at 3700m (approx), so the first day can be quite hard work getting back to the hotel from the main square. The rooms vary, we stayed for several days and checked out and returned after a trip to Machu Picchu. First room we had was next door to the office with a fax machine going off throughout the night but the second time we had a very large room at the front of the building which was very nice. Staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good to.
