Very frienfly, helpfull and quiet! I can recommend it.
If you´re going to Cusco, that´s the best choice. Comfortable and clean rooms, cozy and quite environment and the most important: a incomparable service. I travel a lot because of work and I´ve been to dozens of hotels, I´ve never felt as welcome, it felt like home. It will be for sure my choice in my next stay at Cusco.
We stayed at Hotel Torre Dorada in January 2012 for 2 nights before doing the Inca Trail and 1 night after the Inca Trail.
The hotel is in a residential area which I would consider as a boutique hotel (no jacuzzi/no swimming pool/no gym that you will find at the larger chains) and is about 7 minutes (driving) from the centre of Cusco which is not a problem as they have drivers to drop you off and pick you up and this was available 24hrs (this is complimentary, also included is transfer to and from the airport).
Room was homely and clean, there is no TV in the room but there is one in the common area for each floor. The bathroom facilities were good (hot water and high pressure) and cleaned every day.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, they helped us organise a half day city.
Breakfast was excellent, there was a good selection and made eggs at your request.
I would definitely stay there again when I'm back in Cusco.
The staff went above and beyond to make our trip to Cusco comfortable, exciting, and amazing in general. I can't imagine having such a wonderful stay in Cusco without the Hotel Torre Dorada team! From the moment we arrived they helped walk us through information about the city, dealing with altitude sickness, and planning our adventures in and around the city in the days to come - not to mention packing us some extra lunch for our Machu Picchu excursion! They have a car service with amazing drivers to drive you into Cusco (only 5-10 minute drive) and are extremely helpful with dining and site visit suggestions. Mario was our favorite driver!
The rooms were clean and well stocked, and we all really enjoyed the common areas with books, tea, and access to a computer or TV (not that we ever used the last two!). Breakfast was every morning between 7-9 with a nice table laid out, buffet style, of biscuits, Peruvian pastries, tea, coffee, toast, cereals, freshly squeezed juices, and the option to have eggs prepared any way you like.
Among my many experiences traveling abroad, this was one of the best, and due largely in part to the staff of Hotel Torre Dorada. I would stay here time and time again - and hope to make it back soon!
I must say first that the people working here are kind, friendly and helpful. But having this hotel rated #1 in Cusco is mind baffling. I just returned from 3 weeks in South America and stayed in 8 hotels and have traveled the world. This hotel has nothing to offer. Not location and in fact you have to drive through a scary area to get to it. The reason they offer transportation is it is so isolated and out of the center, that they have to. the rooms are only OK and are not up to the standards of any of the hotels I stayed in , in that price range. Yes they are clean and the breakfast is fine, but I would never recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the culture of Cusco.
