I recently returned from Cusco and stayed at this hotel for three nights (before and after the Inca Trail). The rooms were very nice with attention to detail (pictures, night tables, lamps that work, and nice decor). The bed was comfortable and room clean. I do have to say, that upon inspection, some of the rooms were a little musty smelling. My room had this smell but the smell quickly left once air was able to circulate (there were not too many customers at that particular time). The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very basic which is very common in Peru. Some cooked eggs would have been nice but not provided. The only downfall is that it was at the top of a hill so it was a bit of a hike but it was good training for the Inca Trail (no taxi used because for me the exercise is more important)!! This meant that it was very quiet. Some of the comments I read on this hotel made me wonder what some people expect when you are booking 2 and 3 star hotels. If you wanted all these added perks then why didn't you book at the Hilton? If you are a budget traveller than expect what you pay for!!! Overall a very good experience for me.
