I am very puzzled by all positive reviews for this hotel. Our group booked three rooms for the same price which ranged from OK to outright terrible. One room a window in the hotel hall (?!) and the room's bathtub paint was completely peeled off. The other room was in the basement with little light coming in and stunk. Did I mention tiny TVs that were last probably manufactured in the 80's?

I am not sure what a average reviewer standard is, but if you like Motel 6 in the US you nay still find this hotel below your standards.

We had a two night stay in a very comfortable and quiet room. Outside our window we were able to watch the humming birds fly around, which was a delightful surprise. The breakfast, which was included, was delicious, with the presentation being quite beautiful. Staff and management were very service oriented and went out of their way to be helpful. We will most certainly be returning and recommending Hotel Victoria to others.

Spent Christmas in Cuenca with my family. We had rooms 501 and 507 and they were perfect. Beautiful terrace for each room. Hotel was quiet and staff was good. It probably helps to have someone speak fluent Spanish as my daughter does so communication was easy. Only negative was the waiter at dinner was an idiot. He managed to spill red wine twice including once on my shirt with no apology whatsoever.

We arrived at the hotel way before check in at 10:30 am and were told that check in was at 1pm, which was fine with us. We walked around for a few hours and came back at 3pm. We were shown to the room on the third level BELOW the main floor. The room had very low ceiling, dirty carpet, very small window, and a bad smell. Our friends' room was way nicer. When we complained to the from desk, they said that hotel was overbooked and they had to place us into a lower quality room, but there is nothing they can do. I would not recommend this hotel because they might get a room that is not what you paid for. STAY AWAY.
