Receiving 2012 at the Cumbres Patagónicas Hotel was an unforgetable experience...
Besides the comfortable accommodations, good food and exceptional care from the whole team, I had the breathtaking view of Llanquihue Lake and Osorno Volcano, just in front of my window.

We spent 2 nights in this very comfortable hotel with beautiful views of the lake, would have had a wonderful view of the volcanoes as well had it not been for the low clouds. Pleasant sitting in the bar in the evening with live music and a glass of wine! Puerto Varas is a peaceful town with beautiful flowers, azeleas, rhododendrum, chilean fire bushes etc in spring, Cumbres Patagonias is a very short walk out of the main town, where there are some very good restaurants. it rained on our second day so we were a little limited on what we could do but the hotel gave us a late check out until 3pm which was much appreciated.We didn't eat in the hotel, other than breakfast, which I would say was just ok, but this seemed to be trend in Chile, also don't expect much of the coffee - in every hotel we stayed in in Chile it was not coffee like we know it!

We missed our ship in Valparaiso and had to fly into Puerto Montt. This was a perfect overnight. Be sure to request a corner room on the water.

From check in to check out our stay at this hotel was the best we had in South America.
We had a large modern well equipped room on the 5th floor with a balcony and stunning view of the lake and volcanoes. All the staff were friendly and helpful.There is a good sauna and pool (with a lake view ) on the 7th floor. The bar and restaurant had good reasonably priced food and drinks and there was an extensive breakfast selection.
The hotel has a great elevated location on edge of lake 5 mins walk south from the casino in centre of town.
I couldn't fault it in anyway and will definitely stay there on any return trips.
