We spent three nights at these cabins on the outskirts of Pucon. We did not have a car but found the walk to town easy. It is about six blocks. They will call a taxi for you if you want and this costs about 1000 pesos.
The cabins are for 2, 4, 6 or 8 people. We had a two person cabin with a queen size bed, a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen area and a table with chairs. Larger cabins have room for some more seating and, obviously, more bedrooms. We found that we were out all day and did not sit down except to eat. The cabins are set in a lovely, large garden. There is a swimming pool with deck chairs. This is fenced off for safety reasons but it is done in natural wood which blends in. You can see the Villarica volcano from the swimming pool. We found the cabins to be spotlessly clean with towels changed every day and the cabin thoroughly cleaned. There is a television with cable TV in the cabin, a heater, a microwave, refrigerator, two burner gas stove and plates, cutlery, pots and pans etc.
The owners are very helpful and will book tours for you. These will pick you up at the cabins so you don't have to go to town. Their prices for tours are standard and some even have a discount for booking with them.
You can go next door to the Hotel Malalhue for an excellent buffet breakfast if you tell them you are staying at the cabins. It costs 3000 pesos per person and has everything. There are cereals, muesli, homemade bread, toast, real coffee, tea, juice, fruit, ham and cheese, scrambled eggs in a chafing dish and even cake. This really sets you up until dinner.
Our cabin cost about 60 dollars but this was including the tax. Non-resident foreigners do not pay the tax, making it 18% cheaper.
