Stayed there with my husband, sister-in-law and her husband for 2 days. We loved the spacious rooms and the location. I was hesistant about the renovations but did not even notice it. The water pressure was divine and hot water was better in the mornings. In the late evenings, it ran out fast.

The common corriders can get alittle noisy from loud neighbours but it all depends who is staying there. The first night, we slept early and had to wake up to loud, happy neighbours who had a couple of drinks in the wee hours of the morning. Ear plugs will help you sleep better. The second night, we had kids running along the corriders.... I guess ear plugs again will help you in that situation...

Breakfast was simple but I loved it! Western and local were available.

We chose YWCA for it's location and we will stay there in the future should the need arise....

Please note : The airconditioning can get really cold and it was hard to adjust the vents....

Also, my sister-in-law used their laundry and dryer - self service. She was grateful for that additional option as we were in the middle of our travels...

This hotel is located in the heart of Singapore. Easy walk almost anywhere. Close to Chinatown, Clark Quay, Orchard Road. We even walked to Little India from there. There is an MRT (subway) station really close. The area is simply beautiful, in the middle of the colonial district.
The room was a bit small, but no one ever advertised this as a 5-star resort. For the price, in Singapore, it was great. Breakfst buffet was included and it was delicious (Continental and Asian menu).
We visit Singapore very often. I think this will be our hotel every time we go there.

Nice and clean hotel. Spacious room (twin bed).
Good location.
Reasonably good buffet breakfast.
Affordable price.

The main plus of the YWCA Fort Canning is it's location. 2minutes away from the YWCA is the Park Mall, you cross the Park Mall parking lot, take the lift down to the 1st level, and cross the road, and hey presto! You're at the Dhoby Gaut station. Leave from the opposite exit of the station and you are on Orchard road!
The rooms are ok - nothing overwhelming, but the view from the deluxe room where we stayed was great. Breakfast was wonderful. The service was ok, though a little intrusive. I would recommend this place mainly for fantastic location at reasonable rates.
