Gallery hotel has an interesting atmosphere with quirky art throughout and an unusual layout. You have to take 2 separate lifts to reach your floor; level 4 is the change point and is where the restaurant & 'lounge' are located. Some of the floors look tired/dated. Our executive room on L8 was a good size, nicely decorated, with partial river view & nightclub style black marble bathroom! Reception areas absolutely freezing. Nightclub v popular with the locals but didn't disturb us.

Great hotel. Decent room. Decent size. Everything is clean and works well. Nothing bad to say at all. Will stay here again.

This was a last minute booking for a 3 night stay and despite the many negative reviews here, we actually had a decent stay.

The reception staff were friendly and put us on the 10th floor (highest floor) after hearing from other Tripadvisor reviewers that there can be a lot of noise from a nightclub nearby. We had no such problems - but also the jazz club was shut and the karaoke bar was also closed during our stay.

Our room was nice and clean - not the newest room/furnishings but clean and we had everything we needed. One thing I did notice was there were a lot of sharp edges everywhere and this might not be good if you travel with young children. It was perfectly fine for us, nothing to write home about and really not shabby at all so maybe we were lucky?

The pool area was nice and refreshing but quiet during our stay.

There is something weird about the way you get to the hotel rooms via lift: you have to go to the 4th floor and switch lifts. This is a bit of a hassle but not the greatest problem in the grand scheme of things.

The hotel had free wired internet and stored our luggage for 12 hours before our very late night flight.

The good thing about staying here is that you are within walking distance of a lot of restaurants and bars in Robertson Quay and Clarke Quay. I would recommend this hotel for a young couple who prefers to travel independently.

Tip: the Japanese yakitori restaurant in the same building is excellent but pricey.

Having stayed here a number of times over the last few years, my last two visits have made me seriously question why.

On my trip prior to Xmas I had booked a corner room, the room I was given smelt incredibly moldy so I requested to change room.

On my current trip, I had requested a double room and have been given a twin. The room also smells moldy. As asthmatic I requested to change rooms and was offered a smoking room.

Overall the hotel is pretty tired and the ultimate in mediocracy. The staff are poorly trained and, whilst without a doubt friendly, inefficient and unable to help.

Overall there are many better hotels in Singapore. Having been a loyal supporter of Gallery I feel it is time to call time on a tired and poorly maintained hotel.
