“Unique, modern hotel with nice touches”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

A great, unique hotel in a convenient location in Singapore. The standard rooms are on the smallish side but unique touches such as nespresso machines and I-pod docks are great. The breakfast was definitely a highlight with a great choice of fresh fruits, juices and continental bits and your choice of freshly cooked hot breakfast - delicious! You also get a guide with suggestions of things to do in Singapore and the reception can recommend any extras - e.g. they suggested a great place for late dinner. Reception can also lend you an ipad - very helpful for checking into your flights etc.

Overall, Wanderlust is a nice alternative to large hotel chains!

“What a pleasant surprise”

Lovely quirky room. However, if u are unlucky, the noise from the back alley will disturb your sleep. Otherwise, i love the hotel!

Greetings from the Wanderlust team!

Thank you for kind feedback. Situated in Little India, the streets can indeed be a little bustling at night. For your next stay, we would be glad to offer and assist with a room change if we do have availabilities facing the back lane. Thank you once again, and we can't wait to welcome you back!

This was a great find! an amazing hotel offering great value and service in a convenient location. I loved the free breakfast, free Wifi, complimentary drinks in the minibar and the free local calls. The staff was always very nice and friendly and the rooms are all unique!! We got the typewriter room :-) a gorgeous loft style room and I have to say the bathroom setup is very nice! The Kiehls amenities were the icing on the cake....!

Breakfast offering was for a full breakfast, choice of hot items made to order; the buffet included fruit, cereal and breads; all good quality!

Loved being near Little India and going to Tekka market! TIP, try the biryani !!! there is a vendor who has to HUGE pots one with biryani and one with chicken, TRY IT!......! Found a HUGE supermarket called Mustafa's who had everything possible under one roof.

“Unique hotel at a decent price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

Singapore is an expensive city for hotels. Wanderlust offered a special deal on their own website (not evident on booking engines) which was good value at US$130 per night with breakfast.
The hotel is in a redeveloped schoolhouse in Little India and is 'boutique designer' with each of the three floors designed by a different local company. The smallest rooms are on the Pantone floor so each is a different color - and I don't mean just feature walls. It's everything. Which is calming if you have Cyan as I did but maybe Yellow would be a bit too much...
Everything is well thought out. The rooms are described as 'capsule' which is perhaps unfair given the reasonable dimensions and ensuites. But it's tru in terms of the absence of any work desk or usable surface, the platform bed, and the presence of gadgets such as Nespresso, iPod player, flat screen, and rainshower.
All in it's very workable, with free good wifi, a comprehensive breakfast, and reasonable soundproofing, though they do give you earplugs to combat late-night revelers in the streets below.
Location is great as long as you don't mind a very sanitised version of India at your door.
Service is impeccable.

Greetings from Wanderlust!

Thank you for the kind review. We appreciate it and we're pleased you enjoyed your stay with us along with the amenities provided. The Mono room category is definitely much bigger and perhaps for your next stay you can request for a bigger room for the purpose of your stay and we'd be more than happy to accord you a suitable one.

We hope to have you back with us soon and in the meantime, safe travels!

“best hotel ive been to”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 20 January 2012

I stayed here for one night during June 2011 and it was incredible.
To start - the location is great. It is right in the centre of little india, approx 10 minute walk from the subway which will connect you anywhere you want to go. However, we actually walked to clarke quay, the parks and raffles on our stay there - it took around 20 mins to reach raffles (if that) and meant we got to see singapore in the evening. Little India is also really interesting and worth looking around - we had a great thali one afternoon there.

But...the hotel....it was phenomonal. We stayed in the 'Typewriter Room'...it was absolutely stunning!! Free minibar, nespresso machiine, 2 flat screen tv's, one of which was on the mezzanine with one of the most comfy beds i have ever slept in, gorgeous bath and separate shower. The toiletries were khiels and were amazing, the towels and dressing gowns were incredibly soft. I didnt want to leave!!!!

Breakfast was also fantastic - there is a help yourself buffet with 'do-it-yourself' muesli, pastries and juices and a selection of bread for toast (with plentiful toppings). You also got a cooked breakfast - I had eggs and bacon - which was delicious.

On top of this, the staff were incredibly helpful. They gave us a notebook with recommended restaurants, were attentive to needs and just incredibly relaxed and helpful.

I cannot recommend this place enough - it is worth every penny. Unfortunately it has now set the bar so high that I am not sure any hotel has compared since!!!!
