If you could take the Apple Store and turn it into a hotel then the Quincy would fit the bill. The concept is disarmingly simple; include everything in the price that other hotels charge through the nose for, design the rooms to be elegant and simple, treat the guests as part of the family and then let them relax.
We really enjoyed our stay here; our room was on the 8th floor and the RFID 'key' means it is easy to open the door. We arrived into Singapore early (around 07.00), were picked up by a driver and his Mercedes and whisked off to the hotel. A small niggle is that check-in isn't until 14.00 so we had to twiddle our thumbs for a while. Nonetheless the staff couldn't have been more helpful, suggesting we could freshen up on the 12th floor, where the pool, gym and sauna/steam rooms were.
The showers are beautiful; they're walk in rain showers and there were plenty of towels to grab if we needed them. The pool is beautifully appointed although there are only three sun loungers so it's first come first served.
Our room was perfect for us; Moulton Brown products, accessories such as hair dryer/iron etc were thoughtfully arranged all in one place so you don't have to 'hunt them down' and there was a large bath as well as a huge rain-shower. The mini-bar is stocked with water, soft drinks and a couple of cans of beer and you are invited to help yourself. There are facilities to make a cup of tea though there is no milk.
Each room can choose to have 2 items dry-cleaned or laundered by the hotel. My wife was sceptical but I dropped off a pair of trousers and a linen shirt at the front-desk at 09.00 and they were ready and brought to our room around 18.00 that same day. They looked as if I had just bought them!
Happy Hour is from 18.00 to 20.00 and the service we got was first class; our glasses were never empty and the bar man was excellent at keeping his eye on things and coming up to the guests for a chat.
Dinner was good but a bit 'hit and miss'; the menu is a limited one (although it is 'a la carte' and not a dreadful choice of help yourself bain-maries); we would have enjoyed more Singapore dishes but again this is a slight niggle and didn't detract from the experience.
Breakfast was excellent although most of the guests seem to twig that much of Singapore doesn't open until 10.00 so they tend to have a late breakfast, which means most people arriving at the same time with a limited number of tables. Even so, we only had a 5 minute wait for a table.
To get to Orchard Road is incredibly easy and is a gentle stroll from the hotel. Once we were bored with the 'mall' concept, we took a taxi to Arab St and had a Moroccan peppermint tea at one of the cafes and then caught a bus to China Town for a late lunch.
We both really liked this hotel; the experience has been carefully thought out to make it an elegant yet simple one to enjoy and agreed that we would certainly stay there next time we visit Singapore and I liked the fact that all ages seemed to feel equally comfortable.

Hi L0bbster,
Wow… Many thanks for such a very comprehensive and excellent review!
There really is nothing more heartwarming than to see our guests having a Qool experience and writing about it! It has always been our aim to make Quincy home away from home for our guests.
When you’re back in Singapore and want a relaxing and comfortable stay, you know where to go… :-)
Qool regards,
