“one of the best finds on station 2 . WILL RETURN!”

Reading the bad reviews on here for this place actually annoys me. Maybe things have changed dramatically at this place but I was definitely impressed with my 4 night stay here. Firstly we were upgraded to the 2 bedroom absolute beachfront room which was very clean, modern and comfortable - the beds were amazing. It had an excellent view of the beach and was perfect for people watching, haha. We came to boracay for relaxation during the day and partying at night and the location of the apartments accomodated for both of these needs. The apartments here are quite affordable and compared to some of the others nearby, I think SandCastles is of a much better standard and value for money. The ladies and guards were always friendly and the Tribal Adventures bar ran out the front was always good for drinks at sunset to start the night. I would not say that this is a place for those seeking the most luxurious stay in Boracay but for those wanting to experience all aspects of Boracay island for a reasonable price. Will most definitely return! <3

Room Tip: Choose the 'Maranaw' room! 2 bedrooms with kitchen, 2 bathrooms, living room, absolute beach...

“Nice beachfront hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 October 2011

We arrived late at the hotel(4:30pm,past their 2pm check in time but we still waited long for them to prepare the room. Although we were given welcome drinks, mango shake, still we waited for almost an hour. We stayed at the standard room where there are 2 rooms with common living/dining room and kitchen. We only occupied one room and for a day we had the entire room for ourselves, an old couple arrived the 2nd day and occupied the other room. The living room was nice and in the kitchen, there's a refrigerator and a stove, also a microwave oven with complete cooking wares and utensils. Also there's a split type aircondition and a ceiling fan so it's comfortable to stay in the living room. The bedroom was also nice and cozy, and the toilet and bath has a nice modern touch. I like their overhead shower. However, there was a slight problem with their pillows at first, coz they all had an awful smell that I know i won't be able to tolerate so we ask the housekeeping to change all of the pillow cases and we're so glad they did. As for breakfast, they served coffee/tea with 2 pcs. wheat bread, butter and marmalade. It was okay start the day with but it won't last til lunch if you're planning to go through a lot of activities in the morning. Wi-fi at the lobby is free but is very weak, you can only get signal in front of the reception table. The girls at the reception were not very accommodating, although the guard and the maintenance were a bit friendly. Overall, we still enjoyed our stay. The place is nice. We liked the standard room though it doesn't have beachview. I highly recommend for travelers on a budget, because of the kitchen, they can always cook their meals there without hassle, they got everything needed for cooking. We were hoping we could get upgraded but unfortunately, we didn't because there were a lot of guests that time. We definitely would stay there again.

Room Tip: their standard room have common living/dining area and kitchen and doesn't have beachview. they...

“Cool location and the coolest tunes!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 September 2011

This is a review of the Tribal Adventures bar run from Sandcastles NOT a review of the hotel.

I first went to the bar on the recommendation of a friend just as the bar was opening. Although slightly chaotic I was immediately struck by the view but more importantly the music (apparently it's called 'Beach House' and 'Sexy House') a welcome relief from the identikit, ubiquitous pop tunes churned out from gyms, shops, bars, clubs and restaurants.. The music perfectly complements the location and is absolutely ideal for watching the glorious Boracay sunsets. I returned again and again to the bar whenever the day promised a beautiful sunset. Over the course of the weeks that I stayed in Boracay the bar went from strength to strength; although still a work in progress it is a beautiful chill out bar and well worth a visit.

TOP TIP! To appreciate the bar at it's best, sundowners is a must.

“Beachfront Location, The 2BR Suite offers reasonable value for money for a family of 5 to 6 pax”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 November 2010

We stayed at The Apartments Sand Castles. The place is relatively new. We went there with my family and in-laws for 4 days, 3 nights. We got the peak rate, which is discounted vs. super peak rates. The rate was reasonable considering we were total of 6 adults and 1 kid. The staffs were also friendly. The rate we got included pick-up from the jetty port, which offered us extra comfort. The location was great because it's in the middle of station 2. And of course, it's beach front and you get to enjoy exclusive beach beds/sun lounger with foldable umbrellas. We stayed at the Maranaw Room. The living room can be a make shift sleeping area for extra guests with the foldable bed or sofa bed. The rate we got includes plated breakfast, which was ok with the choice of Filipino or American breakfast. The "apartment unit" we got has a kitchen/cooking area, and included basic cooking utensils and plates, cups, cutlery sets etc. My son enjoyed the place because it was very comfortable and the beach was just few steps away. We would definitely like to stay here again! ❤
