“A wonderful place”

We spent some days at this wonderful place,This hotel is not at the sea but in the sea, When you wake up in the morning and open your door, you get a view you only had in your dreams. This place is a must for snorkling, We rent a boat : Princess Julie Ann and her Captain Jun (recomended of the staff and now us) gave us an unforgetable snorkling and sightseeing experience. The staff is incredible helpful and serviceminded and the food is very good.
The price is affordable, you get a lot for your money. Thank you for some unforgetable days.

“"The quiet end"”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2011

I´ve always prefered Big La Laguna, which is the perfect location, if you want a laid back accomodation, away from the noisy and crowded Sabang, which is the center of nightlife.
I like to go out in Sabang, and retire to Big La Laguna, walking along the beach with a sky full of stars(weather permitting), fully satisfied after a complete day of relaxation, whatever that means to you, and I´m happy to announce that the little stretch going from Small La Laguna to Big La Laguna, is now illuminated at night, so you don´t have to bring a torch, or worry about falling over!
Campbells is equipped with DVD and flat screen tv, and you can borrow music from the restaurant, which I find as an extra bonus, listening to music in your room. Other than that, there is plenty of hot water, clean, nice view of the lagoon, and the staff is friendly and helpfull, making it a pleasant stay, and therfore a place we would like to return to.
Since Scandinavian Divers is under same ownership, you can book your diving as well, which is run by experienced divers. The access to the beach is easy, without too many boats, and a perfect place to take up snorkelling. Though many dead corals now cover parts of the entry to the water, I still believe that it is a good location, for those who wants to learn to dive or snorkel, or just needs a more quiet end to enjoy your valuable holiday.
I cannot speak for other people and there own experiences, but I used to work and live here as a diving instructor, and there is just something about Big La Laguna that makes it in favor compared to the rest of the locations. But at the end it is quiet......

“Best Value Resort at Big Laguna Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 March 2011

This very friendly and comfortable resort is located at the far end of Big Laguna Beach .... which is not very big ... we stayed at La Laguna first for a few nights and we had a beachfront room ... this meant no privacy as the incessant and persistent hawkers and pedlars were sitting on our porch waiting for us to emerge in the morning ... we had to keep the curtain drawn so had no view ... the back wall was shared with the compressor room for the dive shop ... enough said .... the management were only interested in helping when they new we went to check other accommodations the restaurant was good and comfortable but not that cheap and the dive shop was very good ..... we moved to Campbells and ahhh the tranquility ... no passing pedestrian traffic, and an invite only admission for hawkers and pedlars .... that alone was bliss. The Scandanavian Dive Centre which is part of the resort was excellent, the food was excellent and more reasonably priced than the other place and the service was great and always done with a smile. We had a room with a large shared covered terrace on the second floor (3 floors), which was adequately comfortable and roomy but not luxury, we would have gone for the bigger slightly dearer rooms on the top floor but no roof over the terrace so no shade or rain protection .... I will definitely go back to Campbells and I note there were a few long term guests, couples staying 3 months (return customers) ... Campbells will do a good price for longer stays ... thank you Campbells, my girl friend and I loved staying with you. .... Tosh from Australia

“Great Value!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 February 2011

A great place for skin diving...hire a boat and guide (safety first) and within 1/2 hour you are in coral diving. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. If you are looking for a tan, look no farther - pool and restaurant. Sure the place is a no frills, but I think I paid $65 a night - or less! But the real deal is the night life...

“Not What the Website Says”

There is a beach, but as you go to the water's edge, it gets rocky. There is no swimming anywhere to be had. There are nasty rocks everywhere. As far as snorkeling, there is none. The last typoon covered all the coral. If you want to snorkel, you have a hire a guide to take you to White Beach for 800 pecos. So much for the good deal on the room. The website talks about "cottages". We stayed in one. It is not a cottage. The "cottages" are one room units with an extra bunkbed. The bathroom is not good. There is no shower stall. You stand next to the toilet and sink and soak everything. The only positive is the staff. They were cordial.
