“Coco Beach”

Coco Beach are located on a nice private beach just 10 mins. outside of Puerto Galera. Very nice bamboo style bungalows build inbetween the palm trees with a stunning view over the ocean in front of the resort. You have your own service family taking care of your bungalow and you if needed, we got a nice breakfast served at the balcony two mornings where the kids where difficult to wake up....super service!
They have a very good PADI diveshop located in the center of the resort (Coco Divers) always diving in small groups of maximum 6 divers, great place for macro freaks!!!
The resort have 4 restaurants with different menues and all have a pleasant staff. The food is good and not to pricy for a resort of this size, The kids loved the pizza we got at the restaurant right at the beachfront. There are plenty of activities for kids and some good day tours available from the resort. All in all highly recommendable and not unlikely that we will return again some day.

“Great concept, but not the best location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 July 2009

We stayed in one of the Banana Top cottages, near the Silent pool (adults only!). Our cottage was very nice and all new, since they were destoyed a copule of years back by a cyclon, and rebuilt. So ask for one of the Banana Top rooms :-) But you need to be in good shape, as there are MANY steps. The view is fantastic. For a start, we were not that comfortable with the Service Family concept, but the family was really nice, and very attentive, but yet invisible.

The only negatives is the location and the difficulties in getting there. The boat trip from/to Batangas is not that great. The sea can be quite rough. Also the location of the resort... you need a boat wherever you go. We were stuck in one of the other beaches one night due to low tide, so we had to walk back to the resort through the jungle. Not recommendable!

The beach is not so great either. We used the Silent Pool every day, and the happy hour in the Pool bar :o)

“Nice & Quiet Place.. Bad Food for Lunch & Dinner for Big Groups”

We went there with my sister's company.. I found the place relaxing becasue its quiet... But Not recommended if you have an adult with you.. Most of the rooms are high... The breakfast buffet is good but the lunch and dinner... ohhh... meat is hard to chew... Service Crew is very accomodating... as for the boatmen.. they have these free boat but you have to rent the lifevest for 100pesos and the snorkling set for 150pesos. NO NIGHTLIFE here...

“NATURAL , Almost Primitive Way to Relax”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 June 2009

I have been to many resorts---thai, costa rica, puerto rico, cozumel-cancun, Mexico, jamaica, Atlantis Bahamas, singapore and many more ( I lost count).

I liked Coco Beach and will soon go back because it has a primitive feel to it. I've stayed with my husband in an expensive ($300/night) Dos Palmas resort in Palawan during our Honeymoon, but Coco Beach is special to me in a unique way.

It embodies a Philippines-like feel. Unlike other resorts, they have the same tropical theme to them. Lets say for example the water-top huts which you can find in Palawan or Thailand. Its the same old theme for tourists.

Coco beach has a rusty kind, primitive setting. We even found a huge friendly lizard in our bathroom. hahaha. The water does taste salty because its recycled from the sea. We did go to another resort with the same method.
This will surely irk some people who care craving for first class standard amenities, but it didnt faze us.

Its a lovely, Philippines-theme resort near Manila. The buffet was good, though its not our main priority. I also like staying in a pure bamboo place hut with a nice little hammock. What a romantic, native-like place. Its like only 30 dollars during low season.

Lord willing, I can go back!!!!

“Terrible service......Horrible attitude of staffs there!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 May 2009

We've experienced really horrible thing with the driver who is working for this resort

We were all 6 including 4 small children.
The resort provided us returning service from cocobeach to Manila at USD 18
for each person.

After boat trip we got on the van they provided.
On the way home we became very hungry because it took more than2 hours
So I gave my children snacks.

I agree that my children scattered that and made it mess.
But you know how little children are.

The driver shouted to us and staring at us by backmirror in very rude attitude.
Even though I said I'm sorry but he expressed his anger by very dangerous driving attitude. Sudden stop and start !!!!

So we shouted to him to drive carefully. Of course we were very angry at that time.

Then suddenly he turn the radio volume very loudly. It was so noisy that we had a headache. We didn't want to make matters worse.
So I said that could you turn down the volume
He said that "I am listening to the radio"

He was unbelivably rude!!!! We had a taravel with our little children.
But he almost threaten us!!!

After all, we ask him to go to cocobeach resort's office to complain this matter.
He said yes with smile. I didn't know what that means at that time.

Do you know what happened there?

A woman who was called as manager took the sides of him!!!
Yes, we could be rude at first time, because we were very upset about him and service.

I think they don't train resort staffs service attitude and mind at all!!!!!!!

Pls think twice and three times before you make a reservation at Cocobeach resort in Mindoro island.
Their attitude toward guest is almost nightmare!!!!!!!
It's simply the worst!!!!!!! They don't worth to have one star in service.

And if you have a problem with resort staff, you will be a fool in their own world.
