I honestly say this with full confidence and here is my background on this Island. I have been to White Beach waaay back before this became an instant weekend getaway for the locals. There used to be only 3-5 "nipa huts" (mid 80's) with small tents made of coconut leaves and the place is completely deserted.

Now fast forward just a bit to 1995 my college classmates went here for another vacation and it still a small and beautiful beach but it has started to build small hotels.

If you watch Anthony Bordaine's "No Reservation" this should be featured as a weekend getaway, this is one famous one for the locals.

Now for the hotels, having mentioned my history I have also tried so many hotels, the cheap ones and those that are nice but is not facing the ocean! This is where Dreamwave excels, We have breakfast in front of the beach. The rate for a couple is $35.00 rate can vary on summer and could be higher with bigger room.

There is free Wifi and the hotels is clean, service is great. I know most of the personnel working there from my once every two year visit (since 2005). There was once a time that I tried a different hotel, only to go back and book with them the next day just because the other hotel was way too far back and is right on the center of everything.

Dreamwave is further enough to the west to avoid the craziness of fire dancing but you can still hear all those loud music, not just as irritating like other center hotel.

We only stayed overnight at this hotel, but I can say that My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay. The hotel's location is right on the beach though 5-10 mins walking distance from the boats going to Batangas Pier. The receptionist was very accomodating and the place was very clean. We Reserved the Php2500 room (for two) which is totally different from the one posted in their website however, it's ok we stayed more outside than inside our room. The room was quite small.Just a tip: the complimentary breakfast is not offered if you make a reservation online, according to the receptionist. Free breakfast is only offered for reservations made by phone or walk-in.

The cleanliness of the hotel as a whole is superb. They have service crews that clears the sands in the hallway from time to time. The rooms are well prepared before they let you in. The receptionists were very accommodating and nice. They have welcome notes at the reception bearing the name of the person who reserved the room. We got there early and knowing it was my son's birthday, they gave us welcome drinks (iced tea) for free. Dreamwave hotel gives value for your money. I reserved a standard room online for only 2500 pesos, there were fees and taxes online though but it's ok and more convenient. The room, which was initially for three persons, accommodated all of us (we're 7 in all). We declared 4 adults in the reception though we have 2 kids with us too. We didn't pay for the 2 kids since they sneaked at the backdoor of the hotel. They didn't make us pay for the 4th person as well. (I apologize to the management as we were on a tight budget those days :P) The hotel is a bit far from the island's pier. You have to walk 5-10 mins to get to the hotel which is at the other end. Aircon is okay and there's a hot and cold shower, though I think they should improve the toilet because it has a faulty flush. We still had a good night's sleep even though we cannot move freely on the bed. The hotel has a restaurant and bar and lots of ornaments all over the place (which is a good point I think since we love to take pictures nowadays). All in all, I had a great puerto galera experience for the first time :)

We booked 2 nights here during holy week and to our surprise, their rates jumped from PHP1500 to PHP5000 per night and that does not include breakfast, i have to raise my voice and speak with the supervisor to get the free breakfast. We had no choice because its fully booked everywhere. I DONT recommend to stay here.
