Arriving by banca ferry from Batanagas to Sabang, we read that Small La Laguna might be a better place to find accommodation than staying in Sabang. It can be a bit intimidating when you first arrive and are looking for a place to stay. There are plenty of people willing to help you with your bags and take you to their place of choice.
After dusting the sand off your feet, gather your bags and start walking along the shore eastward (or along the small street a little bit in off the beach). You'll pass by a bunch of other hotels and resorts, but as you round the corner from Sabang to Small La Laguna and past a tiny pier (Asia Divers), you'll see a small white building with the words Carm Rob Inn. There might be a young girl deep frying some fish balls right out front with some other kids nearby too.
Rooms run about 1500-2000 pesos (approx. US$35-50) and include A/C. Our room had a double bed, a single bed, a separate kitchenette with fridge and stove, TV, and a private toilet and shower. We stayed two nights there and appreciated the more personal touch Carm Rob Inn offered compared to the larger resorts. (We did inquire about rooms at the bigger places and the price was about the same, if not more. Those places did not include a kitchenette though.)
The staff also helped arrange laundry service for us so we didn't have to look all over town for a laundry mat.
It's located just a stone's throw away from Asia Divers, which is great if you choose to go diving with them. There are restaurants nearby and a small store for groceries not too far as well. It literally is beachfront property.
They do accept credit cards with a 10% surcharge, as most places in this area do. Feel free to ask to see the room first. We stayed on the bottom floor right next to the office.
