We stayed at Pullman Jakarta for four days in room 627. It was our first time in Jakarta and we chose the hotel on the grounds that it was near to a friend's apartment. What a pleasant surprise it was!
The hotel has a modern art theme and, while you could argue that they've overdone it a bit, this certainly distinguishes the property and stops it being "A.N.Other" high quality hotel. They suggest five star status and given that we're in Indonesia I'd say that's pretty fair. The rooms are in a very modern style with exposed "faux concrete" (actually its plastered and painted to look like concrete), a coloured feature wall and a shower located centrally within the room constructed of toughened glass with diagonal (faux) concrete pillars. A very striking design and one that works overall.
The really defining highlight for us was the service. Check-in was average but competent, but where they really came into their own was in the delivery of room service and make-up and turn-down of the room itself. We ordered room service three times... I never normally do this but it had to be said that after the first time the food was so good (and such good value) that it genuinely made us want to eat more! This is (obviously) somewhat surprising for in-room dining and an incredible feat that Pullman should be really proud of. The food itself was exceptional value (c. IDR50k-100k for a main dish) but drinks were very expensive (same price as a cheap main dish). Not to worry though because they deliver fresh bottled water every day and when the guy came to the room with more water we asked for two bottles and he offered four "just in case" we needed the extra... top marks!
The location is good in that its next to Central Parks and Taman Angrek malls, but it is a bit of a schelp to central Jakarta. Not to worry though (unless you have meetings there) because there's not an immense amount in the way of tourist attractions there.
So all in all it was a VERY enjoyable stay at Pullman and if we return to Jakarta then we will certainly book another room there.
