Last Christmas weekend, I was in Jakarta but I had booked another hotel. When we reached that other hotel, we were told that there was water supply disruption so we decided to find another hotel. The only other hotel phone number saved in my phone is Orchardz Hotel and so upon checking and was informed there was room available, we quickly rushed to Orchardz Hotel to check in (Thank God, traffic in Jakarta was smooth sailing on that Christmas Day). We took two deluxe rooms.

It was probably our fourth or fifth time staying at Orchardz Hotel, and so far it never disappointed us. The room is clean and spacious. So was the toilet. The bed was so comfy and huge (they have king-sized bed, not queen). It's probably our good luck with this hotel, as I have read some guests complaining in this TA review column that they got smelly and noisy rooms.

Breakfast was not bad at all, although we had to wait for a couple of minutes to get seated, and again we had to wait at the egg station for our egg orders. But the cafe was full at that time due to a huge group of tourists/guests who were also staying there.

Check-in and check-out was a breeze. As I have mentioned in my earlier review, the location could not be better. It only took us 10 minutes to ITC Mangga Dua. I have always recommended this hotel to my friends visiting Jakarta, and I will do it again in the future.

The room is good and clean. But I think they need to improve their banquet menus for breakfast. But overall, it's a reasonable choice to stay in Jakarta.

Overpriced for location and service. Dirty with heavy mold and mildew on shower walls and room walls. Room and halls smell like smoke and durian. Would not stay here again, period. Only reason we were there was for a wedding party and the two nights there was hardly bearable to put it mildly. This is a third rate hotel in a third world country so why was I expecting more? Probable because the star rating was a 3 star!!!

Getting a good hotel at sub-USD40 is almost impossible in Jakarta...until I found this hotel some time in 2010. It was introduced to me by my regular driver in Jakarta. The rooms are clean and spacious, the amenities are basic but practical. For a little bit more, you can get the deluxe or executive rooms with better furnishings. Breakfast served is pretty basic but edible; for the price its pretty decent. It has a karaoke lounge, a spa and a salon within the hotel premises, in addition to the coffee house. The business center is located within the coffee house. Free Wifi is available at the lobby. Location wise, there's nothing much to see as the surrounding area seemed like more industrial than touristy. However, taxis are easily available round the clock at the hotel hence moving around Jakarta is a breeze from the Hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel for those travelers seeking a clean decent hotel which does not cost a bomb in Jakarta.
