“Amazing Villa”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed at the Villa from 22 to 29 January 2012. Arriving at Denpasar Airport was chaotic, adn entering through the doors of Villa Chocolat 2 was like entering heaven! Gorgeous open air living/dining/kitchen facing onto a beautifully landscaped pool. We were greeted with cool glasses of juice and a cold fragrant facewasher. I was in the pool within 10 minutes, the first of many dips throughout our week there. There are six bedrooms, 2 on ground floor and 4 on the second floor. All are lovely, with king beds, a/c, tv, safes and plenty of storage room. Bathrooms are outside, with some having a shower, some a bath and some both. The room my 2 girls stayed in had a double shower, just perfect for them. The staff were just wonderful, fell in love with them and felt sad to leave. They were helpful, with cooking of breakfast daily, lovely cleaning of rooms, and were happy to help us organise transport, tours and anything else we needed help with. Kids will love this place. Our girls are five and seven and spent hours in the pool, they saw many gecko's and even a couple of frogs, one of which my youngest caught and held. I slept better in the Villa than I do at home. I would highly recommend a stay here in either of their Villa's (Villa 2 opened a few months ago and has six bedrooms, Villa 1 has five bedrooms). We stayed with a group of 7, ranging in age from five to seventy five and this really was a wonderful trip, and the Villa contributed to it being such a memorable experience. Please consider staying here, you will have no regrets!

“6 day stay at Villa Chocolat - incredible!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 January 2012

Went to Bali for my buck's party and stayed here for 6 days and 5 nights. Villa Chocolat is part of the Nyaman Villas group of accommodation, and was only completed a few days before we were meant to arrive (hence we were a bit stressed at the thought of having no accommodation for a group of 10, but luckily everything fell into place at the last minute).

First thoughts: From the minute you walk in, you are greeted by the sight of a large pool in the middle of the private courtyard, which is surrounded by the 6 rooms (2 + master bedroom on one side, and 3 bedrooms above the main living area + kitchen). We spent most of the time in that pool, whether it was day or night, rain or searing heat. Unforgettable.

Rooms: each had a king size bed and outdoor bathroom with shower and bathtub. This was awesome at the start, but we soon realised this was a bit of a nuisance, due to the fact that in rainy season (which includes December) you frequently had to use the toilet while it was pouring rain. Not a pleasant experience. Also we found a frog in the master bedroom's bathroom.

Rooms all have AC and overhead fans, with large flat screen TVs as well. Plenty of cupboard space and a electronic safe for valuables.

Other then the bedrooms and a pool, there is a large living area and kitchen. Every morning we opted to have breakfast prepared for us by the villa staff. You can choose from Indonesian (nasi goreng, mee goreng) or American (bacon, eggs, toast). Every morning we had breakfast made for us at 10am, which was quite a challenge given there was 10 of us, however the staff handled it with ease. Even when we told them the night before we needed breakfast at 9am because we were being picked up for a tour, the staff were happy to oblige.

The staff: some of the best help you can find. They would come in twice a day to clean our rooms and set up mosquito coils, other then that they were always on call if required. After learning on the first day that we'd be getting ripped off everywhere we went to purchase food and alcohol, we asked the staff to organise slabs of beer, nibbles and hot food and they had no dramas getting it for us. We just had to provide a list of what we wanted, they would do the shopping and we'd pay them for it. Very simple. They even organised massages for us, which were excellent. However we paid USD$22 for 1 hour massages, and the next day realised we could get a similar massage for $5-6 on the streets, so opted to shop around after that.

Staff were even helpful organising airport transfers and taxis/vans for the tours we did or when we were going shopping.

Overall: If I could give this place 6 stars, I would. I cannot fault the villa in any way possible; it far exceeded the expectations we had. Quite pricey (I think we paid US$500 a night) but given you can accommodate 12 people this actually works out quite cheap.

Would love to come and stay here again.

“Villa Chocolat - Amazing!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2012

We stayed both in the 6 bedroom villa & the 5 bedroom villa both in seminyak.

We were greeted at the airport by the staff from the villa holding a sign with our name so it was very easy to find them and they had 2 vans with aircon waiting for us. When we arrived at the villa, there were staff awaiting with cold towels for us which was very refreshing. As it was my daughters 7th birthday the day we arrived my dad had organized a cake for her. So within 10 minutes of our arrival we had 6 of the staff come in with a beautifully decorated cake & sing happy birthday to her which she was absolutely thrilled with.

We were supposed to stay in the 6 bedroom villa for 9 nights but as our stay crossed over with a previous booking we ended up staying in this villa for 8 nights & the 5 bedroom villa down the road for our last night which the staff gave us free of charge as we weren't able to stay at our original villa for the entire time.

The 6 bedroom villa:
Was absolutely amazing!! When All rooms had king sized beds, working air-conditioners, a pool, beautifully cleaned & organized. The staff were amazing & were extremely accommodating to everything you asked them whether it was to organize a time for them to come & start making breakfast to organizing drivers & day tours for us - which there was 8 of us staying, 5 adults & 3 kids. This villa had just recently been completed & apart from a couple of areas on the grass which needed some more grass growing this villa was a small paradise hidden away off the main road away from all the noises. There isn't any signage though which if you were to organize your own transport can make it a bit tricky and as this villa is brand new not a lot of local people actually know where it is. They do also have in room spa packages & massages which the staff can organize for you. I had 2 massages in the villa and both times the massage girls were very kind & professional and were early both times. I would 100% recommend this villa to any large groups of people looking for a villa as i will never forget the kindness of the staff they went above and beyond to keep all of us happy.

The 5 bedroom villa
We only stayed here for one night but once again absolutely beautiful. Manicured gardens, 2 pools one in the front of the villa when you come from the double door entrance and then another pool after you walk through the actual building as well as the back bedroom which was more like a studio with a fish pond right at the back of the villa with actual fish in there.
Again all rooms had king sized beds and working air con, everything was neat and tidy and everything had a place. They were different staff at this villa and even though i didn't spend much time with them or organize anything they were very kind and friendly. Only downside to this villa that i could find like the previous person said was the rooster next door. He started at 4am. Although for one night it was a very small inconvenience.

This was my first overseas trip & one i will never forget, i can say that it does have a big amount to do with staying in our beautiful villa with the fantastic staff they have there.

I don't have photos on this computer but if you want to visit their website which i highly recommend doing it is - http://villachocolat.com/?lang=en

Like i said i would recommend the 6 bedroom villa to everyone big or small groups as i cant say it enough the staff are fantastic and the villa was wonderful, beautiful, amazing!!!

Out of 5 i would give this villa 10 it was an unbelievable experience and i will definitely be visiting the staff from Villa Chocolat on my return trip to Bali again!!

“Villa Chocolat was fantastic. Beautiful grounds with contemporary design, great location and the staff were fantastic.”

The only negative was a loud Rooster next door that kept getting his times muddled up, some mornings he started his morning ritual at 2am, others it was 4am, we all got used to it though and it was a small price to pay for the beautiful Villa experience.
