I stayed here as part of my honeymoon. The hotel is really clean and we were upgraded upon check in- i was kind of dissapointed as the upgraded room was extremely small- i would hate to see the standard rooms-HOWEVER the hotel has breathtaking views, is in a lovely location, great staff and as far as i am aware the rooms are quite big for hong kong standards. Pool was lovely. Not ahuge range of facilities in the hotel but a great base in Hong Kong.

Firstly, Metropark I just want to say you shouldn't discriminate people based on their surname. You assumed I was low class because my country is underdeveloped didn't you? Sorry to burst your bubble but I grew up in Australia, had a privledged upbringing, speak perfect english and good education.

This hotel will not reply to you unless you have a chinese or european surname. Terrible practice! The first time I emailed them was on my partner's email account because it was already logged in and I couldn't be bothered logging out. The reply was fast and prompt every time I email them under his name. A few days later I had another question so I emailed them again and this time it was under my name and no reply that day. It was close to our travelling date so I email them again (under my name) and no reply. I'm a bit suspicious since they are so prompt a few days ago answering every question in great detail. So I logged back into his account and email the same question and guess what? A reply within an hour. I was sceptical so I went in my account to email them and no reply again! So I'm getting a racist vibe from this hotel so I emailed them and sign off with a european surname and instant reply again.

Metropark said they did not recieve the emails under my name (I complained via partner's email account who is chinese). What a load of rubbish because all emails were send on the same computer. I checked my sent email and it was there! Unless you guys put on a filter for certain surname so you dodn't recieve our email.

Very good place for sightseeing...
Stayed for 1wk with wife and sister-in-law, mother-in-law...

When told that it was my wife's birthday on arrival, presented us with a small but delicious cheezecake.
Liked the free english newspaper...
Very good local eating spots to the left of the hotel entrance.
About 5minutes from subway....and has a supermarket nearby..

Did not like that there was no complimentary free water bottles....bought them at the nearby welcome supermarket.
The doormen were very helpful but aside from 1 person, the english skills of the reception staff need to be improved and they could not find the place I was looking to go to that I could find on a chinese character google map in 3 minutes. In fact the reception kept referring to the doormen to ask for help when we had already tried them and they had already professed no knowledge of my destination.

Rooms were roomy compared to the hotels in Kowloon of comparable pricing and very clean. The heater did not work so they provided us with electrical steam heaters. As we used 2 rooms and both rooms did not work, please make sure to ask for heaters if cold.
The toilet supplied us with razors and toothbrushes but there was no hair conditioner so please make sure to bring one as the shampoo left the hair knarled and stiff(but very clean).

All in all, a satifactory experience and I would have no doubts in choosing this hotel again.

This was our 3rd stay in the Metropark Causeway Bay (take care when looking and booking as there are 3 Metropark Hotels in Hong Kong - all with different ratings).
As on previous visits our stay was a good one all round. The location is excellent - jump on a bus out the front of the big library in Causeway Bay to go over to Stanley and Repulse Bay - a fabulous bus ride costing very little. Or a five minute walk away from the hotel take one of the great paint job 100 year old trams which travel the length of the Island and give you a great view of the city for 2 HK dollars. A twenty minute walk away through the lovely Victoria Park is the Wanchai Ferry over to Kowloon (10 mins). Rooms in the hotel are small but a high standard of comfort and there is a great choice of Asian, English, pastries and fruit for breakfast (hold out for breakfast included when you book as breakfast are expensive when bought separately).

We take the Airport Express bus to and from the airport (not many tourists on it) which is the cheapest option and easy as the hotel names come up on the digital display on the bus before you get to the stops. You get a great look at Hong Kong on the way!

Do go to the rooftop swimming pool - even if you don't swim - just for the fabulous view of the harbour and the eagles circling around the mountains.
