“Great views, room design and club floor”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 February 2012

The hotel is located a bit off the main road but there is always a line of taxis awaiting to pick the guests up. Just bear in mind that in rush hours it could be better to get down 10 minutes in advance to wait for your turn.

The rooms are very well ecorated, the design is calm and sophisticated. Maarble bathrooms are very luxurious and sexy. There are special spa suites and they are more expensive than regular rooms but a very unusual experience. They feature round japanese style baths and would appeal to zen lovers.

The outside pool is really big and nice. The club floor offers a great variety for breakfast and through out the day including 5 pm drinks - all of superb quality

Really worth the money

Room Tip: The size of the hotel sometimes doesnt allow the room service to bring you your order immediately so...

“Need of a reno”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Main lobby areas are very nice and location is good if you are using the convention centre. Rooms really need a redo as they are quite dated. The internet connection is quite poor in the rooms, both wi-fi and LAN cable. Gym was well equipped and lots of free weights as well as machines. When the new Harbour front is complete, this hotel will find itself in a great location. If you don't need to be at HKCEC, HK has plenty better options for your money.

“Grand and Luxurious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I spent a night at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong and was quite impressed with the hotel, their rooms, facilities and service.
Checking in and out was a breeze, and the front desk was quite helpful and pleasant. Also the rooms at this hotel are very well designed, using every inch to maximize comfort: the bed was super comfortable and had a great view of the IFC tower, and the arm chair offered a really relaxing place to unwind with a drink and watch some tv.
While the bathrobes were nice and soft and the June Jones bath products smell great, I wasn't too impressed with their slippers (maybe I'm the only person who looks at the quality of the slippers as an indicator of quality).
This hotel does have great location for business travelers as it's right near the Hong Kong Convention Center and the Wan Chai metro stop.
I didn't have a chance to try it, but apparently their Plateau Spa is also considered one of the best in Hong Kong.
Anyway, I'd recommend this hotel for business travelers or for anyone who's a part of a Hyatt rewards club. Luxury travelers can also consider it as an option, but they may want to stay in a smaller, more-intimate hotel.

“Excellent Hotel...but starting to show signs of age”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 February 2012

I stayed here for a week and very much enjoyed my stay. It is definitely a grand hotel, with spacious public areas and excellent staff. Rooms were smallish but very comfortable, though starting to age. The amazing harbour view I had made up for that.

What I liked:
- harbour view
- excellent service
- comfortable rooms
- use of facilities in neighbouring club (tennis etc)

What I didn't like:
- Rooms a litlte bit old. Parts of my taps in the bathroom kept falling off!
- No ipod player (well, at least not in my room)
- Lobby restaurant was very overpriced and had a terrible view of construction(which is not the hotel's fault)
- Location. It is nicely placed in between causeway bay and central but yet a bit inconveniently out of the way from anything unless you are having a conference. It is half way between two MTR stations though neither is that far or close. Thankfully its not a big deal as its a cheap taxi ride to Central.
