Currently staying at this hotel in Kowloon, Tsim Sha Tsui area. The hotel is centrally located, just a couple of minutes of Nathan road, the main shopping street of the Kowloon area. Have chosen a Horizon Premier Room because it is slightly larger than the other rooms. However, the view on the garden/city is so bad that I would advise to take the slightly smaller Harbour View room. The rooms are insulated badly, so expect lots of noise from passing guests. Furthermore, be mindful of rooms close to the elevators and service elevators, like room 1947, as there is a constant noise of passings & goings. The Horizon rooms give access to the Horizon Club. The offering of food and service there is below standard and certainly not in line with other Shangri-La properties. Furthermore, staff are already setting up for next day's breakfast at 10 PM although the Club is open till 10:30 PM. Upon arriving at 10:10 PM for an after dinner coffee, we were kindly informed that the Club would be closing at 10:30. We received our coffee but felt constantly rushed by the staff to finish it as soon as possible. The in-room dining food is very good, with many possible choices, and service is fast and stylish. We also tried the Japanese restaurant called 'Nadaman'. Service here was very slow and overall lacking. We waited for more than 1 hour on our main course to then find out the waitress had never ordered it in the first place. Upon asking the staff, we only received a short 'sorry' and were presented with our bill. Overall, this hotel delivers in the Shangri-La brand, but I have to concur with previous reviews stating that this is an impersonal hotel, with service lacking in key elements. It surely does not stand up against other properties like Singapore or Bangkok.
