This is a brief review of the JW Hong Kong our first stay at this property. We just finished a two night stay on points standard rate. Arriving late, around 10pm, and tired from a 16 hour flight, our only expectation was a standard room to clean up and get some rest. We were treated to an exceptional checkin and escorted to our upgraded room. The room was stellar and had a large spa tub. The room also had a pair of live goldfish on our table for company. About 10 minutes after arrival a pot of tea was delivered. Im sure part of this great service is being in asia but the JW seems to raise the bar. I should note that we have status with Marriott which may have r esulted in the upgrade

The concierge lounge had a great variety and was open from 6:00am until midnight

We would recommend the JW without hisitation

Second stay in the recent past. Predictable good product. Comfortable rooms with updated technology - large lcd TV, fast wireless, accessible charge points, electronic light and blinds. Small bathroom, weak shower with small head. No pillow top mattress. Very courteous staff. Morning breakfast buffet was good - typical of a JW. Cost was on the higher end though. Will stay here again given the opportunity.

Knowing the "JW Marriott" from the U.S., I was a little anxious to find that this was the only hotel available on a recent business (w/e) trip to HK. I should have known that Chinese service would show through and I'd rate this hotel comparable to the other Pacific Place hotels such as the Conrad, Shang etc.
Room was clean and spacious with a harborview, the cleaner was chatty and friendly and offered additional fruit. The healthclub was comfortable and well equipped and the staff were very nice indeed. Access to the shopping treats below in Pacific Place was easy and convenient. When my wife felt tired on the Sat, they extended our checkout till 7.00p.m. with no extra charge, unusually considerate. Priced at a significant discount to nearby hotels incl the boutique "upper House" next door but with comparable service, this is a bargain (!) among HK hotels.

OK, Hong Kong is an expensive place to stay in a hotel and to eat, but here was extortion! What really got us was breakfast ... more on this in a minute.
The hotel isn't cheap and is in a great location right next to Pacific One Shopping mall and the Admiralty metro line.
The welcome was great with tea, chocolates and wine waiting for us in the room and the rooms were very nicely appointed.
However it would appear that all the drains are connected, at least on our side of the hotel, as when anyone used their taps / showers / toilets, it sounded like a train going through our room. This would typically start around 10pm and last to around midnight, then start up again around 6.30!!

And now breakfast, we asked about breakfast, I cant remember exactly how much it was but for adults it was about right for a JW Marriott, around 260++ HKD I think. We have 2 children, 6 and 4. Normally they are free in places like this for Breakfast, or there is a nominal charge, yet here they wanted to charge the children 160++ HKD each to eat breakfast? I am sure it would be amazing, but really, my 4 year old would manage half a bowl of cereal and maybe half a chocolate croissant. I even tried explaining this to them, but they were not budging, 160++ HKD each.

There are better value equally as nice hotels in Hong Kong.
