Very nice hotel in an out-of-the way location. Full service, luxury hotel with shops, business centre, tour desk, ATM, and unique spa containing Scandinavian style dunking pools and full gym. Average restaurant but breakfast buffet is outstanding. Our standard king room was excellent - with pot lighting, robes and slippers. Bathroom has separate bath and shower with window overlooking room. No in-room wifi but free wifi in lobby, which has very nice and relaxing seating areas. Tiananmen Square is about 30 minute drive - but Beijing is so large most hotels will require a long cab ride to attractions. Great hotel for tours where travel and meals are arranged for you.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a Sinorama tour of China. It is located in the west end of the city just off the 3rd Ring Road South, a good 45 minute taxi ride from the Forbidden City. This hotel (and rooms) is very nicely appointed with a spectacular Spa and Pool facility. We were disappointed that many of the features of the Spa and Pool were not working. The meals served in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were ample with a nice variety. Staff who sometimes struggled with English were never the less friendly and very helpful.

There is a wonderful open air restaurant facility just a few hundred meters west on Fengguan Road and a minute or two further a nice department and grocery store. Both are worth a visit to get a feeling for the local environment.

I had to use this hotel for a business trip in May 2009 as it was located near to the offices of the company I was visiting. The hotel itself is very good; it is only a few years old, large, modern Chinese and the rooms are large and well furnished. The standard of accommodation is very comfortable especially for the room rate which was at least half of an equivalent hotel closer to the city center.

The location is in the West of the city and the airport is over an hours drive and a taxi to anywhere near the center is at least 30 mins off peak. We had to make 4 runs to the airport and it was a bit of a pain. The hotel is Chinese so no "bar" but the restaurants are good. Any outside eating is local style as there is not really very much to go out for.

I would recommend this hotel only if you had to be in the West area of the city then you will have a nice comfortable stay but not much to do at night locally. It is not geared for Western guests but the staff are very helpful and overall good value for money.
