I just stayed here for one night. Very similar experience to other reviewers. Small rooms but really well thought out so did not feel at all claustrophobic e.g. desk overlooking window... great plugs....good internet, small business centre. Very helpful staff.

Beds are single plus but the sheets and bedding are great... Feel very soft and smooth. The hotel next door, the Fairview has a couple of restaurants and they will deliver from there to your room.

Despite the name that suggests pastoral pleasures, the Country Lodge is perfectly functional and ideal for the business traveler. We have an office in Nairobi and are regular users of the hotel. In my 4 or 5 visits I have never had an issue. The rooms are are not lavish, but comfortable and everything works. Breakfast is not luxurious, but cheerfully presented and adequate. The conference room is not large, but handles 8 to 10 people. Service is not overdone, but is there when needed. Location is close enough to everything, but requires a taxi ride.

The main attraction is its next-door proximity to the Farview Hotel, a real country lodge, with its campus of restaurants, bars, pool and leather lounges - and 50% higher prices. Stay at the Country Lodge and meet your visitors at the Fairview, I know I do.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to write this review as I have already stayed here 6 or 7 times. Apart from being unbelievable value in monetary terms, someone has taken great care to consider what the business traveller requires. The rooms are small but very well thought out with all the right plugs in the right places and a great office in which to work. Free reliable Wi-Fi and a substantial high quality breakfast. Quality pervades through out and includes the staff. Book well in advance as you may not get in! If I really looked for something to criticize, it would be the lack of airconditioning, but having an appreciation for such a well planned and run establishment, there must be a good reason for it!

This is an excellent hotel but has no swimming pool, has everything else including a gym and Internet access. Breakfast was ok but very cramped upstairs, luggage room is a nightmare as is the ironing room but other than that a lovely hotel, rooms are superb quality and good views of hotel next door and there pool
