Room Tip: Higher rooms are more silent. The rooms to the North gives you a better view of the whole town.

“A King for a day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

The Stanley sits on a busy corner junction in the centre of Nairobi. They had a limousine waiting for me from the airport that took around 25 minutes just at the start of the rush hour. Once I arrived the charming Indian receptionist made the check-in process friendly and quick, and made sure I got a strictly non-smoking room. Unlike many hotels they seem to have about 6 - 8 staff on duty,so you should not wait long. I think other hotels should send their reception staff here for training, these guys are the best.

My room 402 was just stunning, spacious clean and tastefully decorated, a kind of modern take on the colonial look, the free internet worked better than my last stay in Kenya and the large desk helped me finish off my presentation. One comment, the bed was the hardest I have ever slept on, but I like hard beds so that was fine.

Breakfast in the downstairs restaurant was good with chefs to cook your eggs any way you wished with a good selection of the usual English and continental options. I used room service once and the food arrived quickly was hot and good quality.

My only complaint is that my visit was only for 24 hours, in this time the Stanley and its highly professional and friendly staff made me feel "King For a Day"!

Thank you ......

Room Tip: Just ask the helpful reception staff for a nice room.

“Friendly and helpful staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

A very nice hotel with extremely attentive and helpful staff. Rooms are spacious and clean. Location is good. We stayed here for 3 nights and then returned after a safari for 2 more nights.

Internet is free and works great!

The restaurant has good food and a great variety. We particularly liked the lobster and the fish soup! However, when the restaurant is full, the service can be a bit slow. The bar/restaurant on the 5th floor does not have as many options but is good for having drinks. Breakfast is good and has a lot of fresh tropical fruits.

The Spa is nice and not too expensive. Try the foot massage, it's worth every penny!

Overall, a very good hotel with high standards and very professional staff.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for posting your feedback on your recent visit.

It is always motivating to read that we exceeded your expectations, in particular; our location, the spacious rooms, quick internet access, food variety, breakfast, our spa treatments and most importantly our staff’s attentiveness and professionalism.

We are addressing our speed of restaurant service especially on busy days.

It was our pleasure to host you and we look forward to hosting you again and again.

Warm regards,

“Good hotel in the heart of Nairobi”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Stayed on business and found the room to be clean, staff were polite and the beer was cold. Food was good, not excellent but more than edible with a fair choice.

“i have left upset”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 January 2012

hotel was the only safe place in nairobi, over expensive rooms and food , staff rude, no free shattle to the airport and one should really be super concern about safety when in Nairobi food was bad, we ordered stake and waited and waited and waited, aparently chef forgot to resuply meat in the kitchen, , small washrooms, but other than that hotel is very nice, rooms clean and comfortable, all you can eat breakfast was not all , and in the evening hotel bars and restaurance were full of prostitutes , those more expensive ones

Room Tip: if possible get one that faces the main street( dont know the name ) to shock yourself,
