“If yo'd like to visit a Nubian village, visit the real one on your own on the Elephantine island”
Our guide recommended a tour to a Nubian village in Aswan, we tried it and were very disappointed. They bring you in a nubian house where they have three crocodiles of different sizes, hundred tourists holding them while they take picture of them. This was probably the worst experience we had in Egypt. It was really depressing and humiliating for the crocodiles. They were treated in a bad way like stupid toys.
To make things worst, there was nothing else to see except a couple of rooms and the market outside which was nice but not worth it.
If you'd like to visit a real Nubian village, go on your own on the Elephantine Island, you can recognize it easily, there's an hotel with a big tower, the Movenpick resort. There's a boat that brings you there every day 24 hour. You can walk in the Nubian village, no one is going to bother you, they live their lifes and you should respect them and possible not take any picture. I have seen one crocodile house only and one man only tried to get us to visit his house, he said he was the chief of the village but we did not go in.
If you respect the animals, do not go to the Nubian village that the guides or tour operators recommend, but choose the one on the Elephantine Island and visit it respecting their habits and life style.
