We spent two night during our trip around Africa in Sofitel El Gezirah. We were two families travelling with kids. It was really enjoyable experience. The hotel is located on an island situated on Nile river. We had fantastic view on the nighbourhood, and when the weather was good, we could even see pyramids in Gizah.

The reception was very good. Nobody made us feel obliged to give tips for everything. The service was very good and not too intrusive. Everybody tried really hard, to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

Rooms are spatious, clean and with fantastic view, equipped with everything, 4 star hotel should have.

Breakfast was very good - I especially recommend fresh juices and excellent jams. We also went twice to Kebabgy restaurant, and were very happy about the food. I also reccomend wholeheartedly Shisha Bar on the ground floor. Hey, there is even Buddha Bar on the first floor, with the best sushi in Egypt and fantastic music to relax (or party after 23:00).

Grounds were well kept with a lots of interesting plants. Lobby is impressive in size and well decorated. The management of the hotel makes every effort to bring even smallest decorative detail to the highest possible level of elegance.

I must admit, that we felt like on a refuge island, compared to what was going on on the streets of Cairo, with horrible traffic and demonstrations passing the hotel to Tahrir square.

It's such a great hotel,very elegant atmosphere provided by the staff which is very friendly and professional.
Delicious food serving and presentation, waiters are willing to help with a nice friendly smile on there faces.
Great sellection of chill out music and candles.

It is difficult to believe that in such noisy & busy city you can really relax in a quiet, nice and comfortable environment.
We have spent all day in the Sofitel Cairo El Gezirah and have not be bored even for one second. Location of the hotel, rooms with a great view, 7 restaurants including the Buddah Bar, swimming pool, casino, executive lounge and.... great and very attentive service made our stay excellent.
