“Very Nice 1st class all the way around”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I knew hotel was nice by looking before I left but facility was outstanding. Upgraded me to a suite probably because not many people were there but what ever the case I loved it. Room was huge. I just wish my wife had been there. Restaurants were nice but food just average, Breakfast buffet was the best meal there very nice selection. Spa is first class, have been to spas all over and this one is top notch, exersise facilty is also outstanding as good as you will find at any hotel. Sad what going on in Egypt right now but things change. This hotel is not close to downtown Cairo but for business outside of Cairo or sight seeing it is fine. also very close to airport.

“Safe and comfortable stay in Cairo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 February 2012

I spend four nights here for a conference (also at the JW Marriott) and other business end Jan-early Feb. I took one of the basic deluxe rooms. Mine was very clean and well appointed with a large bathroom (with separate shower) and very comfortable beds with lots of and different types of pillows. Fantastic wifi connection (which was kept open after I had checked out until boarding the airport shuttle bus) and a very helpful business centre team.

Tried four of the restaurants - the Lebanese and Italian restaurants were the picks. Good service from all the staff - particularly the desk and concierge; a little slow maybe in the breakfast restaurant (but I was usually up early). A small thing.

Brilliant gym with masses of equipment and plenty of free weights. The gym looks out to the pool rather than being tucked in the basement (as so many hotel gyms are). The security was well handled with dog inspections of all visitors and magnetic screening for all guests.

The hotel is well outside Cairo (but 15 mins from the airport) but a good business base nevertheless provided you have a good mini-van and driver.

“Excellent Two-Week Stay in Cairo, Egypt”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 February 2012

I had a two-week stay at the JW Marriott Cairo in October 2011. I was very happy to be in the Marriott complex for almost two weeks. The property is located off Ring road near the Cairo airport. Ring road has very unique traffic as this road circles Cairo, and it is heavily populated with cars, motorcycles, cement trucks, and other heavy equipment. While driving on Ring Road is quite crazy to other areas of the world, I didn’t find it to be unsafe on my commute back and forth to The Marriott. However, I would recommend a local driver.

I felt very secure in the property as it is protected 24 hours per day with gate security and building security. The lobby opened up into an enormous area to meet with colleagues and/or friends.
There are several super nice restaurants on the property including Cucina Italian restaurant that I visited regularly. There is a Sushi Bar, Lemongrass Asian cuisine, and JW’s Steakhouse. The View Lounge and Bar is open 24 hours and serves a variety of food and drinks. They also have live entertainment in the evenings. In addition, there are several outside bars and restaurants for your dining pleasure.

The property contains several pools and outside areas. There is a huge swimming pool and a couple other pools with huge waterfalls and architecture. They have a children’s playground, tennis courts, and a soccer field. The property also sits beside Mirage City Golf Course, and I believe you can sign up for tee times at the concierge. Finally, the property has a salon and spa to pamper your needs.

I found my room to be spacious and clean. It had a large bathroom and huge shower. The internet was fast for hotel speeds, and I found my room comfortable. Overall, it was a great stay!

“Regular JWM with average service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 February 2012

Close to the airport (free shuttle) but far to Cairo center and in the middle of nowhere. So bit trapped if you want to move out. Huge lobby, nice restaurants, large buffets for breakfasts and dinners. Nice indoor and outdoor pools as fitness center. Service is OK but not so great. Decoration is mix of European XIXth century furniture and paintings, simili oriental lamps, Chinese lions... If you love design hotel, forget this one!

Only for short bizness trip and if you have to work in the East of Cairo.

“Almost a great hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

After the security gates and the dogs have passed the opulent JW is actually a very friendly hotel, nice welcome at reception, complete with welcoming soft drink, and attentive lobby staff. The rooms are great -large and comfortable, and the beds have more pillows than I would know what to do with. The restaurants are good and overall ithe costs are very reasonable.
My latest visit was at almost peak tourist season and sadly it seemed as if there was low occupancy. This is a hotel that needs guests and I hope the tourists are not frightened away for too much longer.
Why not 5*'s? Well a bit of refurbishment is definitely required, and the trek through the meeting room detritus to get to Asian restaurant is not a good start to a meal. And smokers in the public areas.....
