i stayed in a junior suite for 2 nights at fairmont heliopolis for the new years! the reception staff was not that professional but what i noticed is that the hotel staff is very friendly...the egyptian way..so they talk to u without that much boundries but with good intensions..room service is fast and very friendly as well as the housekeeping! They have some very nice technology in the room...we were able to connect ipods and ipads to the lcd screen and u can even rent a kit with all possible connections from the business center ( hdmi,ipod,usb....) very friendly bell desk staff as well

Near the airport, near to city stars, largest shopping center in Egypt. Great food and service

Stayed here for work and was very happy with both the accommodation and the meeting rooms. The hotel is well out of the center of Cairo, but these days that's not a bad thing. The concierge was happy to arrange a car for us for six hours that took us to the pyramids and then dinner and back to the hotel for a very reasonable price. There are also shuttle services to the City Stars shopping center and the Khan al Khalili market, so it's not hard to get anywhere you want to be.

We travelled to Egypt from 16-23 December 2011, right in the midst of all the trouble going on in downtown Cairo, but found a great Hotel out by the Airport, safe and secure from any potential dangers associated with the uprising. The Hotel itself is modern and has all the things you would expect in a 4 star hotel . It has a great range of restaurants so there is plenty of variety in dining options. Extensive pool area (which was too cold for us to use) and other recreational options outside.
The rooms themselves were clean and modern, service was very good and (probably as there weren't many people around) very attentive.
As the hotel is near the airport, it is a bit of a trip to the Pyramids etc, but at least you are safe from any of the dangers downtown, also close in case of an emergency evacuation.
