Pasha Hotel is a good option for all budget travellers. It's really close (5 - 10 minutes walk) to all major city attractions such as Hipodrome, Blue Mosque, AyaSofia, Topkapni Palace etc. The staff (Ramazan, Eray & Mahfus) is very frienly and they are able to help whenever you need them, with a coffee, a booking, airport transfers etc. Also I have to say that the owner is attentive and always willing to give you the best from his his business, he has a great sense of humor, and certainly possess the hospitality spirit. I recomend this Hotel!
PD: By the other hand, make sure when you book a show, you agree a price before hand and what is ncluded. Sultana's show is offered for 55 Euros, about 70 USD but then when you go to pay there are hidden fees you you end up paying 90 USD. Don't go to this show. It was nice, but not for 90 bucks. (totally a scam, and I was told I would get my money back but that never happend, I don't really mind the 20 bucks, but the scam and dishonesty to tourists)
Other than that it was a great experience in Istanbul. People are very friendly, most of them speaks english. Prices for food are reasonable. If you go to the Grand Bazaar, there are lot of stuffs but little over priced. There are good souvenir stores next to the Blue Mosque with the best prices in the city. I recomend Hipodrome Store.
Istanbul is a sharming city, enjoy it!
