“Good value for money”

No frills hotel, however pleasant hotel and staff. We upgraded to a sea view, which gave a beautiful view of the coast. Hotel is situated above the beach, which accessible by steep steps, although worth the walk. Breakfast wasn't the best we've had, but good enough to start you off for the day. There is a taxi rank directly outside the hotel foyer and baht buses queue 50 yards down the road. We booked a double room and were disappointed to find two single beds, we did however re-arrange the furniture and push the beds together. when the maid made the room up next day she made the bed up as a double.
We stayed by the hotel pool the first day and found this to be to stifling as the sun was so intense. For the rest of the holiday we used the beach and paid 50 baht each daly for a sun lounger. Drink and food was offered in abundance by peddlers, although at times over powering with offers of bedding, vases, sunglasses etc..
Overall we would not hesitate in recommending this hotel, as it is ideally situated and only 10 minutes ride to the madness of walking street.

“good value for money”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 October 2009

This was our fourth visit to thailand. We paid £698 each for two weeks B&B including flight. The hotel was clean, in a quiet location and within walking distance of Pattaya beach (about half hour walk) or Jontiem Beach (about 1 hour walk). You could take a bhat bus for about 100 batt ( £2) to both. There are vey few English here, which I knew as i'd read the reviews, but everyone was pleasent.
I would say that it was 70% Russian, 20% Thai, 10% other.
It was out of season and we had no problem getting a sun bed at any timeof the day. Compared to any other beach holiday we've had in Thailand the beach was by far the worse. It was dirty and not pleasant to be on. We stayed round the pool, which was fine.
The breakfast buffet was fine, you get what you pay for, but having stayed in this area now i'd go room only as there are plenty of places within 100 yards to get a great breakfast at a cheaper price than the hotel.
In the evening we ate out. The best placeto eat is at the top of the hil, on the right hand side. Its a thai restaurant owned by a lovely thai man and his family. It deosn't have a name, but has white stone tables on the outside and wooden further in. You'll easily find it as it's always got someone in eating, especially the locals, a guide to knowing the food's good.
Opposit his restaurant there's a bar/internet cafe called Maddisons. Great company, expat's go there so they'll give the low down on places of interest to visit. and the beer's cheap.
As I said, good value for money, don't know what it'd be like high season though. You might struggle with a sun bed.
Would we go back? not to Pattaya. There are far more beautiful places to stay and see in Thailand.
