Recommend this property if visiting Victoria Falls. Away from the town centre. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The waterhole can be easily seen from the open sided restaurant, bar and pool area. Rooms have balcony that looks onto the natural vegetation and animals roaming around the "bushes and trees" below your balcony.
As mentioned there is a shuttle that takes you into the main town and the Falls.
The local vendors can be a bit of a problem, as they constantly "hound" you to buy something.
Just be firm and walk away as quickly as possible. No point talking back as they seem to become more assertive.
The restaurant food and breakfast was ok, nice presentation-considering no other choice to eat nearby.
This property met our needs and expectations for our short stay.

Hello Toronto
Thank you for your high praise of our lodge and especially the five-star location rating. It's hard not to exclaim WOW when you first walk out onto the terrace and see the beautiful stretch of pristine African wilderness before you, including the waterhole from the bar, rooms, dining room.

Hope you enjoyed the awesome Falls and all the exciting things to do and see all around.

I hope you keep following us on Facebook and also our Blog as we have lots of interesting elements that will unfold during this year, including a revitalisation of all 72 room at Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.

We never actually stayed here but in the Lokuthula Lodges situated on the same premises but we did spend quite a bit of our time at the lodge as the complimentary shuttle bus departed from this point. We loved this lodge, the food very good, drinks on the deck watching the wildlife and sunsets very special, the service and management staff friendly and professional and the setting truly amazing. Being the rainy season the wildlife around the waterhole was sparse but we did still see impala, kudu, warthogs, bush bucks, mongoose, vultures, owls and other beautiful species of birds. The monkeys kept us highly entertained at breakfast but the staff was not amused and kept very busy keeping them away from the food and the guests. But hey this is Africa and they are part of the experience. The drivers of the shuttle bus deserve special mention as they were all so helpful and friendly. This is the place to stay in Victoria Falls

Hello Bernadine

It's certainly been a wonderful start to the year as far as our lodge and team are concerned. Your five-star review adds to this heady mix and I have shared it with the staff on our notice board and have made certain that I have personally complimented our shuttle coach drivers as they rarely get a mention. We know they take great pride in their jobs and in helping our guests with friendly advice.

Again that word "amazing" comes up and we are very proud of the unique location we have that always evokes special mention and that feeling of real WOW in the African wilderness.

We have been coming to this Lodge for the sixth time and it never varies in service and pleasure ,a wonderful place for a few days stay and the Boma dinner,Vulture feedings scheme and the waterhole view.

Room tip: no spa or gym i know of and the rooms on the right of the lodge reception have a better view of the falls and waterhole

Have travelled a lot. Have been in many hotels (different categories and standards), but Victoria Falls Lodge falls in the very special category of hotels in my heart. So close to nature, very helpful staff and its signature feature - the water hole (or as we call it in Australia - billabong). It was attracting the animals from dawn to dusk and one could not stop watching changing the scenery every so often.. just like in a movie.. first a herd of elephants, then making space for monkeys, then cudos, hyppos..... One has to be there to appreciate the magic of the place. I still haven;t seen a photo that can reflect the mystery of the place.. And not to forget - one of the best coffees that you can have in Africa.

Room tip: Ask for a room with the view to the "billabong"

Hello Australia
As a seasoned traveller we deeply appreciate the value of the glittering review you have afforded VFSL. We agree, it's like the Victoria Falls themselves - impossible for a photo to portray this masterpiece of nature.

When it comes to nature and a glorious vista over our "billabong" and a vast tract of African bush then our lodge indeed reigns supreme at Victoria Falls and we're delighted you enjoyed our "movie."

I always have such a great stay at the Victoria Falls Safari lodge, the rooms are so clean, the staff are wonderful and the food excellent. I stay there often as I have to travel to the Victoria Falls often, I have business to do there but always retreat back to the lodge, have a relaxing drink whilst watching the animals slowly moving around the water hole. Great view and experience right in front of you every evening.

Room tip: You don't have TV in your room but it adds to the safari lodge atmosphere.

Hello Phil

When other potential guests are evaluating which hotel to stay at I think the one word you use will be the critical factor - EXPERIENCE. Because of our supreme hilltop location overlooking a wildlife waterhole it is indeed an experience that unfolds in front of you every evening.

Our genuine usp is that we are the ONLY hotel or lodge in the area that commands such a vista and that faces west and therefore the sunset at what is always a very special cocktail hour! Indeed it's our well-acclaimed signature feature that may be viewed from the deck, the Buffalo Bar, the Makuwa-Kuwa dining room, most of the 72 rooms, the pool deck, the boardroom, the library.
