“Could do better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 September 2010

The hotel is basically ok, but could be a lot better if it only tried a bit harder. It was very hot when we arrived and the a/c hadn't been on, so our south facing room was far too hot and the a/c system couldn't cope. They gave us another couple of rooms before we got one that was suitable, (they have some with balcony s on the 5th floor). The breakfast was quite poor, with the quality of the bread rolls and the croissants leaving a lot to be desired.
Rabat is quite an expensive city compared with the value you can get in Fes or Tangier so the Belere charges a reasonable amount for an average 3 start experience.

“A Dump, not an Hotel!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 August 2010

I consider myself a very just and thoughtful person, and I can say that this hotel was the worst I ever stayed in my entire life.
If I was looking for a hostel, maybe I wouldn't complain, but when it's marked 4 stars??
The air conditioned didn't work, there were cockroaches in the WC, the bed was horrible and small, dirty walls and a balcony shared with another room. It was noisy, and I actually had to sleep in the balcony because it was so hot in the room. I didn't sleep more than 2 hours and paid 90 Euros!!
Please don't go to this hotel. This is the same as staying in the worst of places of Morocco.

“Awful ,run away if any agent books this hotel for you”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 August 2010

Rabat has many good options ...this Hotel Belere is past its better days ..called 4 stars when it is no more than 1 star ...the momemnt you arrive you are in shock ...you have to carry youre luggage 4 stories above yourself ,no staff for luggage .
Airconditioning does not work when u complain they have no other option...you open curtains to have fresh air only to find houses opposite the street too close for comfort ...wifi not available in rooms ,breakfast nothing to say by , corridors dark to save electricity ...if any agent books you this hotel run away or you will spend sleepless night in this uncomfortable hotel

“overpriced hell hole”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2010

Do not stay at this hotel. I was smart enough to ask to see the room first before I paid almost $100 for one night. It was disgusting. Before I saw the room I asked if there was a low season rate and the receptionist said no. While I was up seeing the room my wife heard the staff arguing with each other. She assumed one guy was telling off the receptionist for not lowering the rack rate a bit. There is however a great recently renovated hotel just down the street, closer to the train station called Caleche d'Or. It was spotlessly clean, half the price, and had ceramic tile floors, not dirty carpet. To find it come out of the train station, turn right, then first right, and half a block down on the left you'll see a white building on the left with a blue hotel sign. This hotel has been recently renovated and renamed. Save your money and stay there.

“I never would have chosen to stay here”

Morocco has some nice hotels, but this isn't one of them. Worst food I've ever tried to eat in a hotel, and we were paying half board (the company I was working for). Poor everything.
