“Fantastic riad to relax in after a day of madness in Marrakech!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 November 2011

We stayed for 3 nights in November. When we arrived we received a free upgraded to a larger room on the first floor which was great! We arranged a taxi pick up via an email to the riad which I would highly recommend as it could be difficult to find on your first day. We were in the 'Pearl Room' which was gorgeous, and robes were supplied which was handy for our daily visit to the plunge pool (heated in winter!!). The bed was firm and was great to sleep on, and there was plenty of hot water. The breakfast each day was always slightly varied but always had a plentiful amount of fruit, pancakes, bread, yoghurt, fresh mandarin juice and coffee....a great way to start the day! We were the only couple staying for our first 2 nights and it was really quiet (you can 'just' hear the early morning call to prayer in the distance, but this is to be expected in a Muslim country). Katy, the owner was very helpful organising a guide even though she said we wouldn't need one and could do it ourselves (if I had my time again I would heed her advice and not get one) and also booked an excursion to the Atlas Mountains for us. Wandering outside the riad and into the square and souks is very hectic and Riad Les Lauriers Blancs was a great place to come home to and relax!!

Room Tip: All the rooms except the high end 'Saphire Room' on the roof, open out on to the internal at...

“Great place to stay in Marrakech”

We stayed here for 4 nights in November 2011. It is a great place to stay, the rooms are very nice, clean and comftable. Katy who run's the riad is friendly and very helpful if you want to plan trips etc. The Riad is located inside the medina so we feel you get a more genuine Marrakech experience from staying there due to its location. We recommend getting a taxi to pick you up from the airport and show you where the Riad is as you may struggle to find it otherwise. Katy can organise this for you.

We would stay here again if we went back.

“Happy birthday in Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

After reading plenty of reviews we booked this in January as a birthday treat for my wife.
We were not to be disappointed. It was a good idea to use the airport transfer, as the driver dropped us as near as possible to the Riad. We were shown to the front door after passing previously mentioned road works.
We were greeted by our host Amina, who became our font of local knowledge.
As we were arriving late afternoon we decided to pre-book an evening meal, so good
that we decided to eat in every evening. After a long days sightseeing we came back to Amina’s amazing Moroccan/ international cooking that would not be out of place in a plush French restaurant. Moroccan wine was also a first but the quality again was super. Our room was always clean and tidy when we returned in the afternoon and a couple of times we enjoyed some sun time on the roof terrace with a book and a cold beer. All the staff at the Riad- Bushra and Fatima were welcoming and very friendly and nothing was problem to them. All in all we had a fantastic time in Marrakech seeing all sites and sounds, with a trip into Moyen (mid) Atlas to a Berber village with a good hearty lunch on the way back, all booked through the Riad.

“A welcoming, comfortable and friendly Riad.”

We stayed in 2 Riads (3 days each) in Marrakech. This one was our favourite of the two - it combined a welcoming atmosphere with a good location (15 minutes to the centre of town via some interesting streets).

On arrival we were a little worried - there were some major street renovations taking place outside. The area is a busy and very safe area of town - we felt very comfortable in this location and felt that we were exposed to a local way of daily life (the location of our other Riad took away from our enjoyment of staying there).

The breakfasts are superb - lots of fresh fruit, coffee, yogurt, pancakes, bread, cheese etc. There is a roof terrace to relax upon and enjoy the evening sun.

It was reasonable value although do take euros (cash) to pay the bill otherwise you will be stung by a costly exchange rate (this was exactly the same at the other riad we stayed in) - it seems that this is a way that extra profit margins can be made ....... they charge an extra 4% on the bill if you pay by debit card too (as well as the initial poor exchange rate from euros to dirhams).

Room Tip: There seemed to be quite a funky tent-style room on the roof terrace - I think we would have gone fo...

“An oasis admidst the surrounding turmoil!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2011

Having read many of these reviews before booking I felt I was adequately prepared and reasonably confident about this Riad. However shortly before travelling the review mentioning the work on the sewers was posted and my heart sank!
I have to say this really wasn't as bad as it sounded. There is work going on in the surrounding streets, which are dusty and rubble filled but I wasn't particulary aware of the smell and having book airport transfers through the Riad we were given help with our bags by the taxi driver and porter on arrival. It is slightly daunting on arrival and you do start to wonder where you are going but once you get to the door you know that you haven't made a mistake!
Please dont be put off as this Riad really is a little gem with wonderful character.
I agree with a previous reviewer that one of its main bonuses is Amina who is extremely helpful, friendly, knowledgeable and will make any reservation for you.
She recommended a lovely restaurant and hamman which were both excellent-the hamman especially I would recommend (I was travelling with my daughter who is in her twenties and we both loved it!)
Amina gave us a map and clear directions to the square which we followed easily on the first morning and had no problems with being hassled etc-despite being 2 women, my daughter standing out as she is blonde!
The little pool to cool off in is a real bonus as is the roof terrace although we didn't have much time to sit there but a beer in the evenings or mint tea in the afternoons went down very well!
Breakfasts were lovely and our evening meal on the first night also was delicious and possibly one of the best that we ate.
The other Riad staff are all very nice and helpful also.
Our room was confortable and spotless and kept cool by the air-conditioning.
I would definitely recommend this Riad for an authentic Marrakech experience.
