Thank you, Patrick and Caroline for a truly wonderful Riad. A perfect oasis in a city of noise. Your staff Mustafa, Khallid, Mohammed and 'the girls' were brilliant. Please pass on our thanks to them all, especially to Khallid for his map which I gripped for safety as it was a lifeline to get us from A - B. The first day in Marrekesh, an experience like no other - Ive coped easily with Egypt and Bangkok - but WOW the Souks! The motorbikes, the donkey carts, the dust, the fumes, the bicycles, the people and the kids trying to get ' a buck' for telling you the 'Big Square' is in any direction they fancy Its mayhem, but you follow your map back to Riad Trois Palmier, you walk through that huge wooden door and.................. TRANQUILITY IS ALL AROUND YOU. The lounge with plunge pool. Our bedroom was blissful, loads of hot water in a gorgeous shower. A drink or food is always available, whatever you want the staff are always on hand to help you.
A fantastic day trip into the Atlas Mountains with 4 new found French friends was organised and Ali our driver was great for explaining so much along the way, including visits to a spice producer and restful garden which grew Olives which we watched being harvested. We had such fun.
Our huge breakfasts on the sun terrace were such a relaxing way to start each day and set us up for our adventures. After walking to and from the Riad a couple of times you feel like a native. We always felt safe amongst the chaos, so go and visit, stay at Patricks lovely Riad, have a couple of days in Marrakeshs madness and enjoy! One superb thing about the Riad is that you meet and get to know your fellow travellers if you wish to, so thank you to our French friends for making our last night such a laugh, we SO enjoyed your company, Merci! Oliver, Aurelie, Celine and Fabien! We visited from 16th - 20th Jan 2012 - Liz and Peter.
