“a beautiful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 December 2010

Just had 4 nights in this Riad, special occaision for my wife, first time in Marrakesh, this riad was really wonderful. Tastefully done throughout, a real peaceful haven in the center of this mad city. Get a room on the first floor. Staff extremely friendly and attentive. Gorgeous roof terrace where we had our breakfast each morning. Ignore other comments about being woken by call to prayer, you are in Marrakesh, whereever you stay will not be far from a mosque! We'd stay here again like a shot.

“Great location, lovely building, awful room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 October 2010

We had just stayed in Tigmi and were moving on to spend to night ine Medina in Marrakech. When we arrived it was like walking into an oasis and I imagined that it would be a great place to come back to after having spent the day in the bustling streets of the medina. It was a large riad with a delightful plunge pool in the middle of the courtyard.

Rashid help us with our bags and brought us some mint tea on arrival. Very pleasent.

After checking in, we were shown to our room which looked pleasent enough. However as my wife was not feeling too well she decided to have an afternoon nap. We realised after a while that this was not really feasible due to the fact that our room was right next to the kitchen, so very noisy indeed. We were also woken very early with the banging of pots and pans,

Also the bathroom / toilet was not completely separated from the rest of the room...and sounds/smells travel (sorry, but that it the reality). This was not great.

The breakfasts were pleasent enough.

We could tell that many other guests had good stays here, I think we just got really unlucky getting what must be the worst room in the place. So if you stay here, just be careful as to which room you stay in - ensure it is not the one next to the kitchen!

“Glorious hidden treasure - central Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2010

Dropped off my the Taxi driver in a square near on eof the many mosques and pointed down a narrow alley. Did not seem to bode well as we walked down the Maze - fortunately one of the Riad staff happened upon us and guided us to the Riad door. Upon opening it we discovered a beautiful oasis of calm in the open central courtyard. A mint tea by the pool later and we were shown to our room.

Accommodation is around two courtyards & two floors with a very homely feel to it. The room itself was quite compact, however a lounger outside and "sitting room" next door to our room extended it nicely. As it happens most of our time in the Riad was spent either by the pool or on the wonderfully spacious roof terrace - with great views over the roof tops of Marrakech and a great place to sit & take in the sounds of the call to prayer at the end of fasting (we were travelling during Ramadan).

Breakfast was by the pool & an evening meal is available on request - we went for a Fish Tagine & Moroccon salads and it was delicious.

Staff were very attentive (although a bit of French helped on occasions) plus the House cat & rarely seen tortoise added to the entertainment.

Once we had negotiated the maze in & out a couple of times it was fine, and we were an easy 10 minute walk to Jemaa el Fna and the Souks, and a similar distance from Nouvelle Ville in the opposite direction. Despite our initial concerns on arrival the streets around the Hotel felt safe & the people were friendly.

“A charming oasis in the hustle and bustle of Marrakech”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 May 2010

Hidden away the Riad Les Yeux Bleus provided a welcome oasis from the chaos of Marrakech. The staff was excellent and friendly and the riad beautiful. We had poor weather and were not able to use the pool but it looked nice. The included breakfast was wonderful and one night we ate at the riad (possible with advance notice). Great views of the Atlas mountains from the roof. Eight charming rooms.

“Beautiful, beautiful riad - a haven of tranquility that is a welcome break from the life of the city.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2009

This riad is stunning and perfect to while away a few hours out of the sun and hustle and bustle of marrakech.
It has many areas to relax from indoor sitting room and alcoves, round the small pool as well as the rooftop terrace.
Rooms are nicely decorated and rose petals are scattered in the bathrooms on arrival!
Staff are very polite and friendly. Dinner was dellicious and worth having just for the candle lit setting by the pool.
ONLY criticisms would be that as per other riads there isn't a lot of privacy in the bathroom as there is no door between bathroom and bedroom and there is not a huge choice at breakfast
