“January in Marrakech”

We arrived at lunchtime and were greeted by hotel staff and poured a glass of mint tea. Unfortunately our room was not ready for half an hour so we relaxed for a while.
Room was lovely rose petals everywhere !!(only on the first day). Everything you needed including an easily operated safe!
The setting was lovely we overlooked the main pool and the sun decks and heated pool on the roof was great.
There are 3 restaurants we ate in each of them over the 3 nights we stayed. Food OK not a great choice and would get bored if we had stayed longer - perhaps the menus are extended in busier times. The French restaurant was a let down in terms of service, they forgot our starter altogether and when reminded delivered it with the main!
Breakfast was great and the hotel staff were excellant.

The hotel is slap bang in the middle of things so be prepared to be jumped on the minute you set foot onto the street. If its your first trip do your homework and try and get an idea of prices especially trips etc from the hotel staff who were very good in that respect.

Room Tip: We did book a Medina facing room but got one overlooking the pool which was actually better.

“Amazing place & great food”

We pre-booked for a meal in their Moroccan Restaurant and it was amazing. doesnt look much from the outside, but inside it's like an Arabian palace - red velvet, gold lighting, absolutely beautiful. We had cocktails in the piano bar first (good prices and fab service). The meal was fantastic, with live music and belly dancer. Well worth a visit. 5* hotel, 3 course meal with wine was approx £30pp. Couldn't rate it enough. Great end to the holiday.

“Ideally situated hotel with just what you need to enjoy your trip.”

Hotel is 5 Star just off the main square - just like an oasis a stones thorow away from the noisy, crowded, 'smelly' Jamaa El Fna. We were given a suite overlooking the pool area in the middle despite having made an online reservation for double room medina view. The sun terrace on the top is ideal to relax after a busy day and if you dont want to go out to eat, the restaurants are excellent, both the quality of the food and the atmosphere. After a couple of days visiting the sights around time we spend the third afternoon in the Spa relaxing, a worthwhile experience!!

Room Tip: A room overlooking the pool is ideal, we got one without paying extra for it, and it is nice to wake...

“Wonderful hotel for a first visit to Marrakesh”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

This hotel was an excellent choice for our first visit to Marrakesh. It was centrally located within the city walls, a short walk to the central square, Djemma el Fna, and then to the medina. We stayed in a mini-suite which was spacious and very well-equipped with a comfortable seating area and balcony overlooking an inner garden. It was very quiet and a welcome retreat after a day walking in the souk, etc. The breakfast (included) was an excellent buffet with a chef making omlettes and cooked eggs to order, and plenty of fruit, bread, cereals, etc. We also enjoyed dinner our first night at the hotel's Moroccan restaurant with a good choice of dishes. The staff were very helpful, finding us an excellent guide and driver for our first morning to go to the Jardin Majorelle, etc.

“Lovely luxury hotel in heart of old Marrakech”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 11 January 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights in early January. Got a great deal on a Patio facing room and breakfast by searching hotel booking websites. Room was large and well appointed with separate seating area and good sized bathroom. Public areas are reminiscent of the type of hotel you expect Poirot to appear in! Lovely large pool with pretty gardens on one side which house a delightful restaurant where lunch is served. Hotel has 3 restaurants for dinner - we ate in the french one in the modern annexe and in the Moroccan one where we were lucky to have traditional musicians and a belly dancer. Piano bar does a nice range of cocktails and we thought the breakfast was excellent - try the pancakes with fresh figs and fig jam!! The real plus for this hotel is the location - 2 minutes from the square and the Koutoubia mosque. We loved Marrakech - it is a winning mixture of the traidtiional Moroccan and French colonialism.

Room Tip: Book a patio room but use a comparison website to check prices as they differ dramatically!
