“Perfect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I hesitate to write this because I want the Timila to remain exactly as it is: perfect. The owners were courteous and responsive during booking, the car/driver service that they arranged for us was excellent, and I can't say enough about how great Brahim and the staff were. There was nothing they could not do, and no request was too much to ask. The meals we enjoyed on the terrace were delicious. Our rooms were beautiful, yet not over the top - very comfortable and relaxing. The roof-top terrace and hammam are spectacular! We also had in-room massages and while they were nice, the masseuse did not seem to have much experience/training. Also, we did not notice any noise from the medina in our rooms (though we are used to some street noise as NYC residents). I thought the prices were just right, they really do a nice job so it's worth paying a little more than some other riads in the medina, but they are not so expensive as to be out of reach. We later stayed at the Mamounia (a much different experience, to be sure), however we all agreed that we prefer the quaint, inviting Timila. I wish I could have stayed a month, and can't wait to see them again!

“Kick off your babouches and.................Relax!”

Wafting about in our kaftans like the Gettys, we recently spent four wonderful nights in Marrakech.

The comfortably elegant Riad Timila is tucked away and private, yet with Djemaa el Fna and the Souks on your doorstep the location couldn't be better. As five friends, we booked the entire Riad in hope that it would prove to be somewhere extra special to celebrate a Birthday - and our hopes were most definitely met....and then some!

The property is lovely and has so many little corners in which to relax, listen to music, catch some rays, celebrate, chill or simply cosy-up under a pile of cushions and read a book. It's your choice.
Daytime from the upper terrace you can see the Atlas mountains, then unfolding before you at Sunset is the panoramic view across rooftops and satellite dishes toward the minaret of the Koutoubia Mosque. From up there at around that time of day, you can hear the music of the street performers and snake charmers drifting over from the square.
With lanterns lit and stars twinkling, we sat up there with our G&Ts - it was the most unforgettable experience.
Timila is an espescially pretty place at night time, when the light, colour and shadow from the metalwork lanterns adds a magical feel.

Breakfasts, Lunches and Suppers were fresh, healthy and delicious and meals up on the terrace were wonderful, on one evening we had an extra special meal when Brahim put up decorations and arranged a cake for the Birthday girl.

Brahim and his lovely wife Hannane are charming and they can't do enough for you.
[On one evening we chose to eat out at a Restaurant that Brahim had not heard of, yet he looked it up, booked us a table, led us there and even collected us when we were ready to leave].

Now that's what I call service!

Room Tip: There was good (and reasonably priced) rose and white wine and beer in the honesty bar and If you li...

“So close and so different”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 November 2011

We recently had a delightful few days in Marrakesh staying at Riad Timila.
Situated in the medieval part of the city it is a perfect contrast to the busy souk and bustling centre.
It's an oasis of calm created with green plants in huge pots and pools of water.
The decoration is tasteful and in the Moroccan style. We stayed in the Bronze Suite which was beautiful.
Braheim is a cross between manager/butler and guide, He couldn't have been more helpful ordering taxis, booking tables in the restaurants and advising about the best places to buy certain items, and the prices to pay. He really took the hassle out of everything.
We had lunch in the Riad every day as we discovered Hannana was a marvellous cook.
If we go to Marrakesh again, we may take our children and will definitely stay at Riad Timila.
The only other thing we would do in future is to take an empty suitcase!

Room Tip: The bronze suite was elegant, and the bed exceptionally comfortable.

“Discreet hospitality in a beautiful building”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2011

Eight of us just spent a three-day weekend here to celebrate our friends' joint 40th. It is a wonderful place - the manager is a highly professional and friendly guy who went far beyond the call of duty to make our visit calm, relaxing and fun. The staff are a model of discretion, getting everything done to the highest standard with no apparent fuss or drama. The riad is beautiful, the food was terrific, and the location is perfect - in a quiet back street very close to the action of the city, but removed from the noise and air pollution. I'm always more impressed by sincere good service than by nice aesthetics, but this place has both at a reasonable price. Well worth a visit.

“Lovely place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2011

The hosts are wonderful, the food excellent and the courtyard and roof really nice. The front room (red room) is on the street and rather noisy so try to get something in the back of the property.

Room Tip: Eat in the Riad Timila. the meals are better than anything we had outside.
