“A beautiful Riad in the bustling Medina”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 March 2011

Riad El Wiam was a beautiful, peaceful haven in the bustling, noisy Medina. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and kept the place spotlessly clean. The buidling was stunningly beautiful inside and our room was lovely. The breakfasts were different local dishes every day and the food was plentiful. The entrance is down a dark alley which is worrying first time, but never a problem and we always felt safe. Higly recommended and we hope to return one day.

“Here made us have to return Morocco !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 January 2011

Riad El Wiam is a great location where needs only short walks from Medina square, could not avoid from main crowed and bustled street but after short turn away to a peaceful area then you will reach a small alley for few steps before entering to another world. We could reach the Riad with GPS. coordinate without pick up service but if you're not good in searching around or come with huge luggage,do not try by your own the service is little cost.

Great hosts "Wiam & Kansah" who took care of us with their friendly and helpful staffs who always treated all guests as their family, Maima a lovely woman who could not speak well English but really effort to help and taking care everyone as her power (especially if you can speak french she will extremely communicate with useful information that she could support) then other staffs always worked on their job very hard to make the best stay for you with smiley everywhere they faced you.

The Riad was spent years for re-construction by the owner with the knowledge of Moroccan engineer (Kansah) so all areas and rooms make you feel a truly Moroccan stylish and architecture. Room with huge and comfort bed which were made up so neat everyday, bathroom with choice of towels and necessary amenities that always being refilled, Breakfast was various of choices and tasty served you from 6.30 with greeting by Wiam and/or Miama every morning. The upper terrace area is not so big but well decorated with small nice garden and sofa to relax you from a tired day.

PS. Menara room is located down stair next to living and dining area where can be noisy from upper rooms and/or outside with other guests but was not really big deal for us

Riad El Wiam is totally perfectly valued for the money and Yes !!! We are strongly recommenced for anyone who plans to visit Marrakech. For us we will definitely return here.

“Th El Wiam provides a very comfortable and authentic taste of Marrakech and Morocco.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 January 2011

We are a group of friends (3 couples),who have just celebrated New Year in Marrakech staying at the Riad El Wiam. We all enjoyed our stay thoroughly and were impressed by the cleanliness, décor and all round service provided by this Riad, not to mention the variety of Morrocan breakfasts!
The location is ideal. Its just a short walk through the narrow bustling streets, to the main square at the heart of the Medina (Watch out for the bikes!).
I would strongly recommend the Riad's transport to and from the airport, which is reasonably priced and links with the Riad's doorman, who then leads you through the maze that is the Medina, to the Riad, portering your luggage by handcart. Don't be put off by any of the sights en route. When you arrive, the Riad el Wiam is impressive and a haven of peace and tranquility, around that last dark corner!
The housekeeper and staff are conscientiously helpful and the owner was present at breakfast most mornings. He happily arranged an excellent trip for us to the Atlas mountains and recommended eating places and activities.
The El Wiam provides a very comfortable, authentic Morrocan feel, which added greatly to the enjoyment of our first trip to Marrakech. I can thoroughly recommend it.

“Location, location, location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 December 2010

Situated in the old city this hotel is close to the action but in a peaceful little world of it's own. If, like us, you are dropped by taxi some distance from he hotel and find your luggage being whisked away in a conveniently situated handcart, don't worry, it's all aprt of the experience! A quick chase after said cart through the crowded streets will find you pursuing it down a dark alley and pitching up at the door to the riad. Once inside, you enter another world. You'll be invited to 'repose' on comfy seats while mint tea and sweetmeats are brought to you. A rose strewn fountain tinkles and if you look upward you can see the rooftop terrace where you will consume delightful breakfasts.
The rooms are spacious, the bed huge and the shower a force to be reckoned with. Towels are generous in size and the decor typically Morrocan. Bottled water isupplied daily in the room and a balcony opens off the bedroom allowing you to glimpse the clear blue skies.
The main square is but a short walk though the bustking streets and this has to be one of the main selling points of the riad. The owner is on hand and the housekeeper eager to cater to the comforts of the guests. There are only 5 rooms so guests are very important.
This is a clean, characterful, quiet accommodation and we had a fbulous weekend.

“Absolutely fantastic!”

This Riad has an excellent location, very close to all attractions but away from all the noise of the busy streets of Marrakech. Yes, the alley was a bit dark but so all the alleys in the city and besides, at night there was always a guard in the front door!
The Riad is nicely decorated, comfortable and the decoration is typically Moroccan which gives you a real perception of their lifestyle. The rooms were all diferent, very beautiful and quite big (1 was smaller but also cheaper).
The staff is really really nice and helpful, they did everything they could to make our stay really special.
The taxi driver was very funny and thoughtfull as well. The driving was adventurous but safe :) . We went to the mountains with him and from/to the airport and didn't have any trouble!
The breakfast is also great, everyday we had a different menu and always with typical morrocan food. The one evening meal we had was by far the best meal
we had during our holidays.

We enjoyed everything about this Riad!
